Hey I wonder if the tractor beam was supposed to be installed on tuesday as well and instead they needed a quick fix so they put together the grappling hook thingy.

Vulcans have tractor beam technology in the 22nd Century, but aren't exactly keen on raising Earth Starfleet to their advanced level. Give it another 10 years after we've proven ourselves. Everybody being in the same Federation boat will help.

T'Pol: "There's a Vulcan ship less than two days away. It's illogical to attempt this alone."

 

[LeadHead]

Archer: I thought you were beginning to understand why we have to do this alone.

 

[ChristopherPike]

T'Pol: (grasping at staws) "You'll have other opportunities to demonstrate your independence."

 

[LeadHead]

Archer: Never put off til tomorrow...

T'Pol: "You both could be killed."

Archer: is that concern in your voice? Last time I checked that was considered an emotion.

T'Pol: "If anything happens to either of you, the Vulcan High Command will hold me responsible."

 

[LeadHead]

(Door Chime)

Archer: Come in. (Reed enters) You finished?

Reed: (putting down two cases) "Sir."

(opening the first) "This should reverse the polarity of any mag-lock within a hundred metres. Once you've set the sequence, you'll have five seconds.

Malcolm opens the second, revealing two chunky but sleek guns within.

 

[LeadHead]

Archer: Ah! Our new weapons.

 

[ChristopherPike]

Reed: (now pay attention 007! Oops! Sorry, wrong franchise... )

"They're called phase pistols.

They have two settings... stun and kill.

It would be best not to confuse them."

 

[LeadHead]

Archer: Time to go. The Ship is yours.

(Archer and Malcolm leave Ready Room)

(Suliban Pod launches)

(Panel starts blinking Red)

Archer: What's that?

Trip: "Travis said not to worry about that panel."

Archer: That's reassuring.

An explosive charge travels upwards through the clouds, and suddenly explodes. We see the effect of a shockwave dissipating toward the dark form that is Enterprise.

Reed: (gripping the handle on his console) "Hold on!"

The bridge shakes. The sound of the explosion is louder than before. The camera pans past T'Pol in the center seat, settling on an alarmed Mayweather.

 

[LeadHead]

Mayweather: That one was a lot closer.

 

[ChristopherPike]

Reed: "If we change our position, they'll have to start from scratch."

 

[LeadHead]

T'Pol: If we change our position, the Captain will have no way of finding us.

 

[ChristopherPike]
