Borderlands. Anyone getting it?

I'm trying to download the General Knoxx expansion this evening. It's been going for over an hour on a 20Mb connection and still only 42%. My internet seems to be as fast as ever though.

Anyone else got it? Is it any good?

started on it tonight and enjoyed what I played so far.

The city wide announcements are totally hilarious.

I like the mugshots of the main characters on the Wanted posters. The photographer got...distracted with the siren and aimed the camera a bit too low.

Big question - is there a bank at all? Or do they still want you to buy the crappy Mad Moxxi expansion?

Finally got to play it last night. Me and me friend have been playing this co-op from the start and are about level 46 (we have busy lives!). All the weapons are for level 48 and over!

We got our asses handed to us by the skinny ninja women. We've gone back to the main game to level up.

Yeah for some reason they new DLC assumes you are at a level 50 already.

When you hit Level 50 do you become much more powerful? All the enemies on the new DLC seem rock solid.

Have you found an pearlescent weapons (ultra rare) yet?

The only real upgrade I have found so far is a better mod for Roland (the soldier).
My friend kinda wanted to back out of the new DLC until he reaches level 50 so I may go it alone.

I haven't seen one yet, I assume there probably isn't one as the is an enticement to get the Moxxi DLC.

I also haven't noticed any other banks anywhere else in the game (after the Moxxi DLC) so I assume you have to go to the Underdome each time you wanna use it which kinda sux too.

I don't think this is the case at all (the new DLC assuming you are level 50).

My buddy and I did fine against the cyberninjas, both with level ~42-43 characters. You definitely have to be careful and can get killed much more easily than by the typical bandits and midgets in the original game, but it was surprisingly easy.

Are you playing the 360 version?

My buddy that is a level 46 hosted the game and every opponent at the beginning of the game were level 51's

Yes, 360 version.

I thought it was a bit odd that the game spit out enemies that were about 5 levels lower than me and my buddy. I thought the game scaled the enemies to the host's level, which apparently means +/- 5? That would be an extremely odd design choice.

from what i understand there are two scales for this... if it is your first playthrough the content is scaled for you to be level 35. if it is your second playthrough (beat the game and restarted) it scales to level 50.

my wife and i had level 45's and went in and got crushed (second playthrough characters).... i thought we could grind a few of the guys and get crazy XP, but that didnt seem to be the case (nor was it fun)... so we are back to New Haven to quest some more...

After going back in with a bit of a strategy (electro mods, electro bolt turrets and electro guns) destroying Vulcana and friends was a fairly straight forward.

We've just cleared the roadblock mission which took a long time. The lancers seem to respawn fairly quickly in this DLC and they are all level 51 (corrosive weapons work very well against them). Don't bother with the probes though as they just give up if you drive away quick enough.

Still haven't found any pearlescent weapons

You basically need weapons of each type or a really strong non-elemental weapon, since there are dudes who are invincible to each type.

Wait until you guys get to Crawmerax... that's when you'll find the game ridiculous.

Has anyone tried going back to Mad Moxxi with a 61? I'm wondering if that DLC scales... if it doesn't, I might actually buy it for kicks.
