Borderlands. Anyone getting it?

What I dont like about it is after I go to an area and kill everything there, save the game and then replay it later on, all the baddies I killed are back alive and I have to kill them all over again.

The game is all instanced, like an MMO, so the enemies will respawn once you leave the area. I guess it's meant for grinding or whatnot.

Well it's not just the enemies, the quest items regenerate also. So if you need to destroy X number of fuel tanks and you destroy 1 before you exit, when you come back that one will be back and still count if you blow it up again.

I passed on the Zombie DLC, might get the Underdome one because the arena matches were my favorite part of the game. I got the game editor to try my hand at weapon crafting, but I'm kind of disappointed at the options. Don't get me wrong, there are tons of gun variants to make. It's just that there's a clear progression from worst to best for each part so there's really no strategy for making your own weapons.

That is about my only real complaint about the game, regneration of enemies. I dont like having to refight some tough guy over and over again. That is what I like about Fallout 3, the dead stay dead.

I just finished rolling through the Zombie Island DLC with my roomie last night. It was a whole lot of fun. Normally, the game is not especially challenging once you get past level 20. But Zombie Island sure was.

My only complaint was we spent hours collecting zombie brains while doing the main quests, and found out they counted for nothing when we started doing the "Collect Zombie Brains" quest.

The new DLC "Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot" is out today.
I got it this morning, can't wait to get home and give it a whirl.

That's this game's problem - it's effectively an MMO without the 'massively' part. The problem is that MMO gameplay doesn't scale downwards to one to four players very well.

I bought it for $39.99 and just sold it on ebay for over $50. I didnt like it. I got sick of having to re-kill the same people I just killed before.

Me too, really. I haven't gotten rid of it yet but at least when you play the game on your own the game should scale the difficulty of each mission/job.

I keep blundering in to missions that are way beyond my character's abilities because I keep expecting the game to be more like Oblivion or Mass Effect.

In theory, I could just grind and grind and grind until my character is well above any enemies I might face in my next job, thus making the game ridiculously easy.

I started a game of the "Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot" myself and did fairly well until the hoard waves came, man-o-man even my turret couldn't hold them back and it's pretty beefed up.

I got down to the last wave then died!!! Arrggghhhh!!! LOL Just so ya know, when you die you start over. DOH!

A friend finally logged on and we beat the first level, the thing was, he is a level 41 and I'm a level 50, he hosted the game and we both still had a bit of trouble.
The new DLC was definitely designed to be played Co-op, those hoard waves are something else!!

Ugh, that's what I was afraid of. I guess I'll pick up the DLC when I get back and try to find some games online... being unable to finish it alone is kind of jank, especially if you're forced to start over every time you lose.

Just shoot me an invite if ya need a killing partner.

Been having a blast playing this game so far. Hit lvl 19 tonight and took out Sledge. His shotgun is pretty sweet. Favorite past time is Skag hunting, especially the Badasses.

Yes! I saw him on YouTube and can't wait to take him down. I just finished all missions in Arid, leaving as a lvl 21. I was hunting in Skag Gulley today with nothing but a revolver and occasionally using my turret. Long past time for me to go.

The Underdome expansion looks like fun, but I'm not sure I'll have time for it if I need to be able to devote a few hours to a stage in order to finish it.
