Got this finally for the pc. During the training part of the game the robot guy stopped moving and I was stuck and I immediately regretted getting the game for the pc. It wasn't that bad though, I just had to restart (keeping the xp and money I got from the first broken playthrough) and it continued fine.
Good: I like the art style of the game, the environments look great and the opening movie was really fun. I like the mmo structure of the game, getting quests and whatnot. I'm a sucker for loot, so I love that. Seems to have decent character customization, but I'll have to see about that as I play more. I've liked all the weapons I've gotten so far, unlike games like Red Faction where most of the weapons suck. I like that the drops are tailored to your character, so no getting ammo for guns you'll never have. Having a chance to fight for your life and get a second wind when your life is out is brilliant. The enemies are a bit dumb but fun enough to kill for now, and they seem to regenerate at a brisk pace keeping the world from being boring.
Bad: Story seems kind of 2nd rate, same with voice acting. In fact a lot of this game seems 2nd rate, like a copy of several popular games that was made a country that doesn't make that many games. Blue ghost lady that only you can see from halo, vaults from fallout. The safes look exactly like the fallout 3 safes, only the fallout 3 safes were generally placed in locations that actually made sense. In this game they just kind of dumped them wherever it looked like there wasn't enough stuff going on. Same with the toilets, which always have bullets or money in them. (I wonder if they ever reveal this magical being that poops money and bullets.) The skag piles look just like similar item piles in world of warcraft and dissolve in almost exactly the same way. It would be nice to be able to tell how hard I was getting hit without looking at my health bar, that was one of the nice things about fallout. Some lazy mob generation. With the sniper rifle I can just point at a skag hole and head shot them as they slowly come out one by one. This isn't the worst pc port ever, but it's pretty obvious this game was made for the consoles with the inconsistant use of the keyboard and mouse in menu's. They really couldn't set it up so you can scroll quest text using the scroll wheel?
Overall I'm liking the game.
