Bloody Hell, Look Who's Back [MAJOR SPOILER!]

No fuck in their right mind no matter how stoned they are from the good drugs they save up for labour, is going to name their child "River Song"
a) she was probably born on a different world.

b) you may not remember all the kids of hippies with names like Sunflower Moonbeam. eg Rainbow Sun Francks from Stargate Atlantis
or are not aware of the names given to kids by celebrities.

or come to think of it, seen Firefly

now if River was a man then yes I would question the parents wisdom in calling him River, I would question a few other things about the Doctor as well, but also the parents.

Didnt River say to the 10th Doctor that he looked so young? But isn't No. 11 even younger looking? Oh well, I suppose the last time she saw him pre-The Library - in her timeline - he may have looked a lot older than Smith currently does. Bloody bendy wendy timey wimey makes me head hurt.

Remember Smith looks younger but is actually older than Tennant...in chronological terms the 1st Doctor is a child whilst the 11th is a truly old man--when River said he looked young she meant (in my opinion) young in terms of regeneration and actual age, not looks...

I agree. We're talking about a woman who had come to know the Doctor's real name. Why is it so hard to deduce that she knew of the Doctor's other regenerations and that the Doctor she met in SITL was younger than the Doctor(s) she knew up to that time?

(Sure Donna had the ginger, bottle ginger probably, and I'm sure that whoever the hell this new one is who I have not yet fallen in love with yet but clearly will, and I am ashamed to be destinys bitch just like the doctor is too in this situation but the new girl is bottle ginger too from the looks of it which counters the entire argument unless shes a natural ginger who bottle gingers herself to fake out the lovefraud squad?)

Oh, and as far as when I fell in love with Donna?

She had me at "Pockets".
I'm pretty sure Catherine Tate's hair color is natural. Like Shirley Manson (Catherine Weaver from The Sarah Connor Chronicles).

The 11th doctor doesn't seem sad at all about seeing River again. You'd think seeing her sacrifice herself in the future would permanently scar him.

I guess the moping is over?

Well, she did deduce that their entire relationship had taken place with him knowing how she would die. And I have a feeling that Ten probably met her once or twice in the meantime, else she wouldn't have recognized him at the Library (unless she had a bit of the Time-Lord in her herself*). But he must've played coy about what order his incarnations came in, or else she would've known that they couldn't have done the Byzantium yet.

*Insert obvious joke here

Beyond just "new adventure" with River to enjoy, there is one thing to consider and has been explored before in a comic and audio play. He knows what is going to happen, but it's best to not show the sadness or try to warn the person what will happen just in cause things turn out even worse should they know.

Just like the myths of a cyclops, if one knows their own death and tries to change it, it will be a death they never know and be far worse. Time and Death itself (whom has visited the Doctor before) may be just as vindictive or cruel, and he wouldn't want to risk that.

Well, the Doctor hasn't actually fallen in love with her yet, has he? His initial reaction might be something like, "Ah, it's that woman I supposedly fall in love with in the future. We'll see how this plays out."

EDIT: Also, my highschool English teacher was almost named "Moonbeams" by his parents. Then they decided to use the familly's traditional name, Eggbert...but then picked something so ordinary that I don't remember what it is anymore.

Look at the name on the wreckage then cast your mind back to 'Silence In The Library'.

Cool, good catch.

Here, get this...

Take off the dickie bow and give the guy a medium length brown trenchcoat, and hes got a 'Mal Reynolds' thing going on. :techman:

Great expression on his face there! I hope that's the Doctor on-screen and not Matt Smith off.

Looking at the inside of the wrist, that looks like a watch face, and the wristband looks like a generic metal watch band.

I'm leaning toward the "watch" side, m'self.

Yes, I'm thinking it's a wristwatch, too. I've been looking at an earlier picture and it looks like it to me, too. I missed it before.

It's just a gold, seventies-themed wristwatch, turned around with the face on the inside of the wrist, as a lot of people wear...
