Big Brother 24

It seemed to me like Michael was leaning toward not using the veto until their attempts to manipulate him.
Same here. All those people coming up one by one, same story, same reasoning... of course it raised a huge BS flag.

And while I'm happy that Terrence finally had a decent showing in a competition, he can go any time. He is just so godawful BORING.

PleasepleasepleasePLEASE let Jasmine get laryngitis before voting tonight. Spare us from any more stupid, moronic things that Julie is "prettier than."

Terrance seems like a good guy, he’s just so clueless in the game.

I like this idea of breaking the house in two for a week.

Apparently Paramount + is available in Canada... and not for an outrageous price (less than a dollar more than I pay for two of my a la carte channels). I'm tempted.

I will say about Terrance. I do not count him out for winning it. I counted out Steve that one year, he seemed to be doing nothing. But then nobody targeted him the whole game and he wound up in the final against someone people were angry against and won. Terrance could easily win that way.

He could... but are people still angry enough at anyone badly enough to not vote for them to win if they'd played well? Either there's a whole bunch of footage of him actually doing something that we're not being shown, or people are just keeping him around for votes.

On gameplay alone, plus having a decent social game, I would say there's no question that Michael should win, or at least be in the final two.

No doubt there are probably ill feelings toward Taylor still around. She had better watch all those smirks she's tossing around, as it's usually been the one who smirks and tells someone "You're definitely leaving" who ends up being the one evicted.

I'm strangely fascinated by how many of those damn bags of potato chips she's been eating. She must have a fantastic metabolism or do lots of exercise, because she won't have that pageant figure long if she keeps this up (not body-shaming; just stating a fact).

Alyssa can go any time. Honestly, what is it with women who think the guys like it when they put on ridiculous displays? Reading the guys' body language spelled embarrassment rather than any sort of "wow, she's amazing and wonderful" attitude. And this, like Taylor's earlier displays, will not endear her to the women.

Well, at least Julie wasn't prettier than fried chicken. I guess apple pie is an improvement. Why is Jasmine obsessed with comparing people to food?

Yes, the new twist sounds intriguing. At this point, I think Turner would be grateful for anything that would mean he can spend less time with Jasmine (hope he gets to, as she would drive anyone nuts).

Hm. I'm not actually annoyed at who won HoH, other than her dithering about who to nominate. Seriously, two of your alliance, pinning your hope that one of them will win the veto and everyone will vote out the replacement?

Taylor
, at some point you are going to HAVE to either nominate or vote out a
black woman
if you want to win. After all, it must be obvious that they will not give you the same break.

It's hilarious that Jasmine was all giddy about the "Five Swatters" alliance. Does she really think the guys would switch just like that?

Has Jasmine finally given up on trying to figure out who stole her half-muffin?

What is in that goop that gets shot at people in competitions? At least they get eye protection now, but what about if they actually swallow it? Does it wash out of clothing?

Michael will struggle to get to the final two just because he’s too obviously a strong player, and not one that has the dominating social relationships as someone like Derrick or Xavier. He needs to make a move against Monte BEFORE final 7 or else he’ll need to win HoH or veto every single week.

It’ll be interesting to see when he makes that move. I think if he wins HoH while the house is split in two he takes the shot.

OMG. Turner, do not ever wear black lipstick again. It's awful.

At this point, I don't care if they get rid of Terence, Indy, or Alyssa. Just so one of them goes and the rest also go. And take Jasmine with her food obsession with them.

Alyssa, what a monumentally stupid move that was...

Now that I've seen the episode.

I like Michael/Terrance as the HoHs. It not only gives Michael the opportunity to make the kind of big move that could make the game more interesting, it gives Terrance on opportunity to really make a mark in the game and take the shot he wants to take at the big allliances.

It depends on who they ended up with in their houses, though. Those without access to the live feeds won't get to know this until Sunday (found out they're not available in Canada even though an extremely inferior version of Paramount + supposedly is... tried it, nothing happened, so I canceled and thank goodness this was during the free trial so they didn't get any money out of me).

If Michael and Terence were smart, they will split up Kyle and Alyssa and will put them up. If both get put up simultaneously and both are voted out (each side not knowing of the other's decision), that would be best. Then they can continue their showmance in the jury house and neither will go into revenge mode while still in the house.

For the sake of Turner's sanity, I hope he and Jasmine won't have to be in the same group. Holy crap, she is annoying.

I'm not going to look at any spoilers from the feeds. I have no idea how people are going to pick except I think Michael will pick Brittany first to try to keep her safe. It's interesting because I think both of them are going to try to take a shot at the alpha males. But Michael is going to try to be more subtle about it.

Interesting developments in the house. Michael set himself up to not only protect his core 3, he got Kyle to play his game for him in the other side. Poor libidinous Kyle. Michael is the clear best player, the only way he’ll lose is through just plain being too good at challenges to keep around.

I wonder if anyone outside actually gets the Fire Fest reference.

I have no idea what "Fire Fest" means. Or Dire Fest, or whatever they call it. It is funny to see people in California whining about being cold at night. We're having a heat wave up here in parts of Western Canada, and I don't need any blankets at night even with the balcony door and window open.

Kyle just killed any good will I had toward him (not that it matters, but still he was one of the people I wouldn't have minded winning). Opening his big friggin' mouth and utterly betraying his alliance... and Terrence can go any time, too.

Hopefully the outside people want Joseph gone more than Turner; I think the obvious winner of the whole thing should be Michael, but I'd like to see Turner get to the final 3.

Actually, here's my preferred final 3: Michael, Brittany, and Turner.

At least Turner is having a Jasmine-free week. I wish the rest of us could, too.

@Timewalker This is what Dyre Fest is parodying:

The further I get into this season, the more baffled I'm becoming with regards to how serious the diehard BB fandom community seems to treat the show; come on, people, it's a combination of 3 Nickelodeon kid's/all-ages shows, a comedy prank show, and Daytime TV talk, so lighten up about it and have fun with the ridiculousness.

As far as non-ridiculousness goes, I'm apparently the only person who doesn't automatically see Kyle's actions in disclosing the truth about the Leftovers as being a bad thing. For me, it's a very Survivor-esque move, and while there's definitely a significant chance of blowback happening down the line, it did do what it was supposed to, which was to keep himself and/or Alyssa from being used as decoy targets (the term Pawn doesn't make sense to me in context).

Of course it makes sense as gameplay. But it also means that he has shown himself as untrustworthy. That is one of the criteria by which the jury members decide on who gets the money. If Kyle gets to the final 2 (I doubt he will), it would be a valid reason to vote for the other person.

There are going to be a lot of pissed-off people when they find out what he did. He had better win the next HoH or else one of his new buddies had better. If a Leftovers member wins, I predict Kyle and Alyssa will be on the block and one will be gone.

That's the thing; I don't think it automatically tanks his game, and think the outcome will ultimately depend on how he handles the inevitable damage control.

Maybe that kind of thinking is naive of me as a Big Brother newbie, but that's how I see things.

The only times that this scale of betrayal works in favor of the betrayer are when the betrayer's new buddies come out on top of the numbers, or if the betrayer is seen as a strategic or skilled player by the people on the jury.

Kyle might meet the first, but won't meet the second. Next to Michael's impressive number of wins for both HoH and Veto, Kyle's resume is rather thin. He needs to realize that if he hadn't been part of the Leftovers, his being in a showmance would have seen him or Alyssa being booted out weeks ago.
