Big Brother 24

I'm not impressed with Daniel and Nicole. I'll admit that he's entertaining at times, and he had a point about Taylor apologizing. But he and Nicole are not willing to give Taylor the chance that she's beginning to realize she needs to take, to come across as a real person, not her pageant persona.

Right now, I like Michael and want him to win. He seems pleasant and not cruel to anyone, and has done very well in the Veto competitions.

Turner... okay, he's cute in a weird two-toned way. But his obsession with Pooch is making him unlikeable. I wonder how soon he's going to turn on Jasmine.

Kyle doesn't give much of an impression. Maybe later, but so far all I get when I see him is being reminded of the guy who played teenage James Potter in the Harry Potter movies (hairstyle and glasses, most likely).

Brittany is beginning to be annoying - not for what she's said, but for her facial expressions (shallow, yeah, but that's my current impression).

As for the others... Jasmine, just shut up. Don't speak. High-pitched, squeaky voices just irritate the hell out of me.

Speaking of Jasmine, here's a question: Does that wheeled contraption she's using to get around really squeak like that, or is it just a sound effect that's been added?

At least we agree on the other houseguests for the most part!

Okay, I think
Terrence
just made a mistake with his choice.

Turner has partially redeemed himself.

This business of just starting the HoH comp and making people pay to see all of it has to STOP.

Apparently The Amazing Race is filming another season? Two people from BB are going to be on it? Or did I misunderstand that?

That was some stellar TV.

I'm curious as to why Daniel is the one who pushed the votes for Ameerah over the edge when he's on the outside looking in as far as the Leftovers alliance goes, but I'll probably never get an answer.

Pushing big events like the HoH competition to the LIVE feeds is a weird concept to me, personally, but it is what it is.

I wish I knew how to GIF, because Nicole and Alyssa's "shocked face" reactions after the Leftovers alliance executed their gameplan is super GIF-worthy.

Big Brother has been a lot of fun so far even though I had to play catch-up on the season, and I'm excited to see where things go from here.

I think in Daniel's case, he just didn't want to evict Terrence. Terrence really needs to step it up if he doesn't want to go. Even though it's obvious that some of the houseguests genuinely like him, he rarely has much to say about anything (unless all his dialogue is in the live feeds and we're not being shown any of it). He's a convenient person to keep around for votes, but he has zero chance of winning the game.

Pushing the live comps to the subscription service is really not fair to viewers who don't want to subscribe, can't afford to subscribe, or for whom this service isn't even available to them. There are so many American subscription services that Canadians aren't even allowed to legally access due to geoblocking. CBS doesn't mind taking our money for voting, though.

At least Survivor finally acknowledged that there are many Canadian fans and opened the show up to having Canadian competitors. Big Brother, on the other hand, is basically saying, "Canadian? Go away, we don't give a damn about you." Yes, we have a Canadian version of BB, but it's not the same.

Nicole and Alyssa were shocked, but for vastly different reasons. Nicole must be one hell of an actress, since Taylor didn't allude to figuring out that her "bestie" actually loathes her and is actively working to get her out.

And Nicole... displayed such arrogance, with her condescending speech to Terrence, telling him he would be leaving, telling everyone else he would be leaving... wow (btw, who cares if Nicole was a cop?). Paloma had this same arrogance toward Taylor (look who actually left), and I don't blame Nicole for being angry with Taylor's "quit if you think you have to/want to" speech. Alyssa fully expected Terrence to be the one to leave, since of course everyone in her two alliances just LOVES her... oops.

The arrogance of some of them this time around is repulsive.

Monte and Joseph really didn't look overjoyed to have Terrence join them. He probably would have been better off joining Nicole and Taylor.

Jasmine really, really, REALLY needs to shut up. That high-pitched squealing during the voting grated on the ears, and I have no idea what she said Julie was "prettier than".

Did anyone else catch who said something about "I'll see you later on The Amazing Race"? This suggests that at least one of them is going to be on that show (nice to know there will be another season). But it also has me wondering how the same person can be on both shows in the same year.

I bet they just think they are going to be so loved when they get out that other reality shows will be clamouring to have them. To paraphrase what the Excelsior captain said in The Search For Spock: "won't they be in for a shock."

Never thought I would say this, but Taylor is beginning to grow on me.

Or maybe it's because I dislike Nicole more.

At this point I’m happy with either Taylor or Nicole going home. But it’d be utterly hilarious if Nicole went home.

What’s his name had a correct intuition that Nicole was the target. Monte changes his mind and decides not to target Nicole. And he is so contrarian that his reaction forced them to go back to plan A of evicting Nicole.

Yeah, I’m done with what’s his face and Nicole. They just look for reasons to dislike people. Taylor was everyone’s target and would be gone now if they hadn’t overreacted to her and evoked sympathy. Taylor isn’t a great player but she at least seems like she’s trying in misguided ways to be friendly.

Daniel is the one you're thinking of.

Now if Kyle would just get over Alyssa... good grief, he knows she has an SO outside the house, who now knows she's gotten flirty with a guy inside the house. That kind of situation never works out for anyone.

I'm amazed that it actually isn't taking half the summer to learn everyone's name. It helps that two of the lookalikes are gone.

Well, I am not unhappy about how the eviction went.

It looks like Jasmine is off that squeaky wheeled thing, at least. I wish she didn't have such a squeaky voice or say such stupid things to Julie when she votes.

I'm sure Julie was absolutely thrilled to be told she's prettier than fried chicken.

Even though I know essentially nothing about Big Brother game strategy, I can still see why it made sense for the Leftovers not to completely blindside Daniel and Nicole the way they blindsided Ameerah, even though it would've made for fun TV.

Kyle's an idiot for falling so hard over Alyssa, but he's super young and love makes everybody an idiot when they're young.

Showmances can completely ruin the houseguests' RL partnerships, not to mention the risk of pregnancy if a showmance couple takes it too far (it has happened).

I know players have slept together, who got pregnant? I thought they offered protection on those shows.

Put a bunch of hot 25 year olds together in a house where there’s nothing to do it’s difficult to find the privacy to diffuse your tension by other means, it’s going to happen. You have to think if they have RL situations, they can’t be very fulfilling ones if they blow them up on national TV.

Now that Taylor’s being treated better I’m ready for her to go. Cause she’s still bad at the game and I have no effing idea why the other girls give her so much credit for manipulating people.

It’ll be hilarious if Terrance ends up winning just by never being a threat enough to be targeted then winding up in the finals against someone people are angry at.

Daniel is the kind of person who the slightest perceived slight and he will vindictively hate you till the end of eternity.

Bravo,
Turner
! What would make me sit in front of the TV and giggle insanely is if/when Jasmine gets evicted and seeing the look on her face when Julie reveals who ate that stupid muffin.

For the sake of everyone's sanity, I hope they get rid of her before the jury phase starts.

I think we have only one eviction left before jury.

I think Daniel was smart to point out to Michael that he’s a person who wins comps and is targeting the other stronger men in his alliance instead of him. It’s just a question of whether he can find a way to act on that without becoming the main target.

Well, tonight was an exercise in telegraphing one thing and doing another. Well done. They can always target the other one later, though they will have to factor jury votes into it.

Jasmine is going to be one bitter juror over that friggin' muffin.

Is Taylor really that into plain Lay's chips? Those things are basically inedible without chip dip.

Can anyone say "product placement"?
