Big Brother 19

Jess' comment of loving watch Alex "get fat" and loving that all the girls she went to high school with "got fat" is low. No one in there is spotless.

What a despicable airhead.

CBS itself body-shamed Jun a number of seasons ago (one of the female contestants who noticeably put on weight during the season).

The people there are bored most of the time. They're in that place with nothing to read, the only distractions are sitting in a tiny swimming pool, exercising on fake grass, or playing games like chess... I guess a deck of cards would be too much to ask. Other than talking, sulking, acting out, and playing pranks, what is there to do but eat or sleep?

Sleeping too much is a sure-fire way to miss out on conversations or be considered anti-social. Everyone wanders through the kitchen a hundred times a day, so it probably becomes second nature to just grab something to munch on.

They did away with the food competitions, so it seems like the pantry is always crammed with food. Some of them do end up eating more, probably out of boredom or maybe because they might be one of the few who can actually cook.

Which brings me to ask this: Who is responsible for cleaning the house?

Yikes, what a messy Temptation competition! Hopefully the houseguests didn't have to clean all that up.

I'm not unhappy with any of this week's nominees (although I wish Cody were one of them).

I liked Kevin's reaction to the competition. "You did a great job by the way."

Hopefully Paul finds a way to make sure Jessica goes home. I don't like Elena but I don't mind her either and I think she might be able to make a good run if she can get out of the shadow of the big bad before she is eliminated. If she manages to stay in longer than Mark, Cody and Jessica she could potentially pull a Lisa.

Sorry, long time ago. Winner of Big Brother 3. She was initially in a couples alliance that dominated the house, but the other three were evicted before she was and then as a power of one rather than four she was no longer seen as threatening, so she was able to get a second life and ended up winning.

I think I'm full on rooting for Kevin now.

I honestly don't remember if I saw that season. Normally I can barely remember the last one I watched.

Kevin would be acceptable to me if Paul gets evicted. He's managed not to offend anyone or do anything dirty, and he's got a good poker face. But he's not as active in managing his own game as others - at least if you don't count the temptations he's accepted that gave him $25,000.27.

Which brings me to ask this: Who is responsible for cleaning the house?

The houseguests are. Earlier today several people were pissed about the dishes not being done for a long time. Typically there are one or two people each year that become the natural house cleaners. This year Matt likes to clean the kitchen while everyone else is asleep, at like 3 am.

Aww, Cody cried. Poor widdle baby, he didn't get to play in the Veto competition.

Josh definitely owes Christmas for this one.

What did OTEV say before "Servants"? On the streaming it was bleeped, was it bleeped in the original broadcast? I'm guessing 'bitch' but was it something else?

It was bleeped on TV, as well. I have no idea, but assumed it was probably "fuck" or something similar.

What is that disgusting green goop that got sprayed around? What if someone had gotten it in their eyes? This show has a dismal regard for the houseguests' safety at times.

Cody all "It's not a game, it's personal!" Really, so it was all personal when you snap-judged you didn't like half the half and then refused to so much as talk to them about game? So then you're saying you weren't making a game decision to carve out an alliance of the like minded, you were not doing what you thought would cause you to win, you were just bullying people on the basis of not liking them. Got it.

The reason I think it might be "Bitchservants" is that it's on the level where they might have let it through the writer's room then realized after they filmed it that it might offend people. If it was "Fuck" they probably wouldn't have let it through the writer's room.

The goop was probably similar substance as Nickelodeon slime.

Ah, okay.

Cody is an idiot. He was ranting that if he didn't get the money, at least "they" wouldn't get the money, either.

I guess he forgot one basic rule of the game: SOMEBODY is going to get the money. The only way that Cody can try to deny it to any specific person is if he makes it to the jury. Sadly, he will probably get there, which is why Paul is right to want to get Jessica out before the evictees become the jury.

I haven't seen any evidence of Elena being any sort of threat in the competitions. She's never won HoH, and I don't recall that she won anything else, either. All she's done has been in a showmance and she's been a lot more levelheaded about it than a lot of these couples.

And Jessica is a bitch. Honestly, Josh was trying to reassure her, but she just wouldn't shut her mouth long enough to listen. The sooner she's gone, the sooner I lose one reason to keep yelling at the TV.

Will spoiler mark any comments on eviction or HoH contest because I know some people read the thread before they see it.

Jessica was sinking in quicksand, Josh threw her a rope and she was like "Why would I want a rope from YOU?"

So "The good guys" are in good shape with Alex winning HoH. But "The good guys" are also becoming too big a percentage of the house to stay together for longer. Cody probably goes if he doesn't win veto or Temptation challenge, but probably Paul will be first "good guy" to get turned on. So happy there's nobody more coming back into the house this season so they only need to evict Cody one more time to make him go away.

If Cody comes home I see Mark, Elena, Matt and Raven potentially leading the charge against House Yourboy and his loyal bannermen, possibly trying to peel away Kevin and Jason.

Love when Julie tried to get Cody's reaction out of him.
Julie: "Cody this is your first time in the house without Jessica."
Cody: "Yeah." (Awkward pause)
Julie: "So...can you, talk about your feelings about that?"
Cody: "I am not familiar with this concept. Please restate inquiry."

He was so robotic he actually made the Chenbot pass the Turing Test.

Much appreciated. :)

There were so many times when I wanted to reach through the TV screen and just slap her. She's got this fixation that if other people don't tell her exactly what she wants to hear - that she's beautiful, noble, wonderful, (add another 3,592 similar adjectives) - then it's okay to just keep telling them to shut up, stop speaking, whatever-you-say, etc.

Thank goodness they got rid of her before jury. She won't be getting any money, and if her place of employment has any class at all, they'll reconsider her employment there. Who wants to hire a concierge with such an appalling attitude and foul mouth? Looks aren't everything. I wouldn't hire her to clean my cat's litter box.

I think Josh picked up the phrase "your boy" from Paul. I wish they'd both stop using it. They are their parents' boys. They're not anyone else's boys. The only boys I've ever claimed as mine have been my male cats - the last one decided no ifs, ands, or buts, I was his new mom.

But he was plainly wearing his heart on his sleeve - Jessica gave him her hair bandana (or whatever the hell that red thing was). So that should have been all Julie needed, to know exactly how he was feeling.

I'm glad that between Julie and the taped messages, Jessica got to see how she just threw away her chance at the money because she was determined to be as nasty as possible, right up to the end. At that point I think even Josh would have voted for her to go, rather than Elena.

With any luck, Cody will be out next week. Unfortunately, whoever goes out with him is going to have a miserable time in the jury house, since I can't imagine him wanting to decompress from the game in any sort of friendly way. It wouldn't surprise me if he just brushes his teeth at them there, as well.

A whole week of Josh banging pots and pans, dancing, and "singing", while Cody stands there, brushing his teeth?

That could actually be entertaining. Or maybe they'd have to lock them in separate rooms and let them use the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry in shifts.

The thing that has frustrated me in the last 2 weeks with Jessica and Cody is their inability to formulate a strategy to get to the end. She used the hex, allowing them to stay in the house, EVEN THOUGH Cody was apparently ready to take the bullet. Then they complain for the next week because they hate being in the house and don't want to work with anyone. THEN complain that they are being targeted. Then do some work, fix your social game and figure out how to make deals and alliances. As a super-fan, Jessica was completely unprepared to actually play Big Brother. And if you are a super-fan, you should know lying and breaking deals is an intrinsic part of the game. Every time they would complain about how they hate everyone in the house, they hate being in the house, I would be yelling at the TV "Then why did you use the Hex to stay?!?" If she had jettisoned Cody, as Cody agreed to let her do, she could have laid low and repaired her game. Jesus, Josh would have made himself a big enough target.

Her only motivation in using the Hex was to irritate Paul. Or maybe she figured in the moment that they could win enough competitions to stay around longer.

If she had actually shut up long enough to listen to Josh (and Cody had either not been there or had also shut up), it's barely possible that Elena might have been evicted. There are people who are finally realizing that Paul has been manipulating most of the game so far, and at some point they're going to have to turn on him if they want any chance themselves.

It could have worked. But Jessica and Cody are the sort of people whose default reaction to anyone they don't like speaking to them is "Shut up/go away/fuck off."

Those are two people who truly deserve each other.

I literally slept through last night's episode... as in I decided to take a nap a few hours before it was on, and must have shut the alarm clock off in my sleep. Next thing I know, I woke up and it was after midnight! :scream:

So please tell me everything that happened - everything, no matter if it's a small detail or not. I'm angry with myself right now for missing this and ruining an otherwise perfect record.
