Best Line in the Film?

For humor: "Get out of the chair."
For nostalgia: ""I have been and always shall be your friend"
For substance: "Space is disease and danger, wrapped in darkness and silence!"

"My usual farewell would seem oddly self-serving so let me just say...Good Luck."

-Old Spock to Young Spock

Here's two of my favorite lines from the film:
* "Dammit, man, I'm a doctor, not a physicist" - Karl Urban ROCKED THE HOUSE as McCoy

* "I have been and shall always be your friend" - That line - along with a few others - completely justified Leonard Nimoy's inclusion in the movie as 'old Spock', which worked out a lot better than I was expecting it to.

What was it Scotty said about the Enterprise while on Delta Vega...something about getting his hands on her "nacelles"...I can't remember it exactly enough to quote it, but I loved it...

Near the end when Kirk's considering sparing Nero he says to Spock something like "Don't you wanna do the right thing here?" and Quinto nails the response. "Not really, no. Not at the moment."

Perhaps not the best line but I and most of the audience liked

Kirk: "Your whistle is really loud!"

I liked Pike's challenge to Kirk.

"Your father was captain of a starship for 12 minutes. He saved 800 people including your mother...and you. I dare you to do better."

Another favorite:

Security Officer who beat up Kirk in bar scene taking Kirk into custody: "Come with me Cupcake!"

Perhaps not the best line but I and most of the audience liked

Kirk: "Your whistle is really loud!"
This got a great laugh at my showing too. My buddy and I also found just about everything Chekov had to say quite amusing.

Kirk: "I don't believe in the no win scenario"

and

Spock: "When you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth."
McCoy: "How poetic"

Yup, those two are my favorites. Nice nods to II and VI.

McCoy stole the show for me. As I said a previous post, he was the one I was looking forward to seeing the most. Naturally, all of his lines were instant winners. I still think his rant to Kirk in the shuttle was pure hilarity. He sounded like a hypochondriac, but yet, he is a doctor. I was hoping we'd get a little, "If I'm not careful, I'll end up talking to myself," but there's always the next movie!

Don't forget his line, "I don't a need doctor, I am a doctor!"

I nearly forgot about that one. Scotty says (paraphrased), "That Enterprise is a real beauty. I'd love to get my hands on her nacelles."

I would have to say Chekov shouting "I can do zat!" as he's running to the transporter. I laughed so hard every time he said something.

I loved everything that Chekov said, and if that line above isn't the best line, it's probably the one that I'm going to think of most.

You have to admit, it's utterly hilarious that Pike picks the most unintelligible person on the bridge to announce the mission objective to the crew. I mean, even Uhura, who probably can understand backwoods Y'drian dialects, is most likely going, "What did he just say?"

Put me down for "Get out of the chair!" and "Bullshit!" The line about the sandwiches in the future cracked me up along with most of what Bones said.

I thought it was sweet when Uhura told Spock "I'll be monitoring your frequencies..."

Spock had a good line (can't remember the wording) about how wishing his younger self to "live long and prosper" would be pretty self-indulgent.

"It would seem self serving to give you the usual greeting, so I will simply say, 'Good Luck'."

1. "I really like this ship!" - As has been noted, in the trailer it was okay. In context it was hilarious.

2. Any line that wasn't a direct quote from another film or episode. After one or two, it's not a nod. It's fanfic. The only time it was okay was when Nimoy did the "Have been and always shall be..." line. Then it meant something. It wasn't a toss-off.
