Best Line in the Film?

"it'll work..." (kirk to spock who just predicted 3% chance of success).


Pike: In 4 years you can graduate... in another 4 you can have your own starship

Next day

Kirk: 4 years? I'll do it in three...

3 Years later...

I had tears in my eyes hearing "I have been and always shall be your friend".

There are so many lines that are fabulous, though.

I liked Pike's challenge to Kirk.

"Your father was captain of a starship for 12 minutes. He saved 800 people including your mother...and you. I dare you to do better."

Seconded! Simply fantastic writing and delivery. As a close runner up I would pick old Spock explaining to Kirk how young Spock lost his home planet and is emotionally unstable. I forgot the exact quote (if somebody knows it, please remind me), but Nimoy's delivery just crushed me emotionally.

"I got your gun" was a big hit in my crowd.

Can't remember how it went, but Spock's response when Pine made Kirk acting 1st officer, about being unfamiliar with human pranks.

I liked when Nero appeared on the big viewscreen and just acted polite for a few words. What a phyco.
