Best Line in the Film?

No question about it.

"I have been and always shall be your friend"

It brought the house down. A women next to me started crying her eyes out.
Wow. Wish I had been in that crowd. Mine wasn't terrible. But it certainly wasn't emotive. And I wanted emotive.

I liked the "I'm a doctor, not a physicist" line by McCoy.

Got to watch this one again--solo, without the 16 year old man-child of mine...

"I'll be monitoring your frequency."

Well, hardly a great line, but it got plenty of laughs (at it rather than with it).

"Bullshit" got the biggest laugh.

we had an emotive crowd..
laughed , cheered and gasped at all the right stuff.
Nice. I'm glad people are having that kind of experience. :techman:

That's the kind of experience I had when I went and saw The Dark Knight. Great crowd. But, alas, I am only a fringe Batman fan. I so badly wanted that sort of crowd for Star Trek. Just makes the experience all the richer.

Spock's delivery of "Live Long and Prosper" to the vulcan science academy. Never have those syllables sound more like "F__ You"

Really. My husband and I turned to each other and said, "That was 'up yours' in logicese."

And what else did he say? He was half-human and so they still had a perfect record.

Kirk: "I don't believe in the no win scenario"

and

Spock: "When you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth."
McCoy: "How poetic"

That was my thought as well. I almost cheered there. Way to stick t to them.

People have mentioned the "no-win scenario" line. That was awesome. Such a nice nod to who Kirk is. Really gets to the core of the character.

"That's weird" Kirk referring to future-Spock's ship welcoming Quinto-Spock.

I was waiting for "He's dead, Jim." Maybe in the sequel.

I was hoping that when Nimoy was telling Pine about become "Capt of the Enterprise" he'd slip in a "and then Admiral, briefly" flyby comment

I would have to say Chekov shouting "I can do zat!" as he's running to the transporter. I laughed so hard every time he said something.

You wouldn't want to have to put up with Tasmanian crowds (who tend to be polite beyond belief), I barely heard a peep out of anyone - certainly no cheering, or clapping because Tasmanians never do either. I gave a couple of little laughs during the movie and felt slightly guilty about doing so.

I line I liked the most

"I have been and always shall be, your friend."

I was in the Empire Leicester Square crowd at 8:45pm yesterday, and being British it isnt customary to get to excitable at these things, but on a couple of occasions, I had to instigate some clapping, and I remember a brief cheer as the "Gray Lady" made her cue!

The line which stood out to me, as I said before was Spocks log entry, after the extermination of Vulcan, and the loss of his mother. But there were many great lines, the ones between George and Wynona Kirk, deciding a name for the child, "Tiberius, no way!!!" :)

I also thought it was great that there were touches of treknobable, and a nice exposition piece from Spock Prime, about Romulus. It would have been nice to have a quick Picard cameo there though. A reaction shot on the bridge of the Enterprise E, to the supernova...
