Spoilers Batwoman - Season 2

This is going to be a different version of the character, with no connection to Gotham (the show).
Hopefully they'll do more with her than Gotham did.
Wasn't the comics version of Montoya a love interest for Batwoman?

That was Maggie Sawyer.

Can't remember if it was a thing before, but in the recent Other History of the DC Universe, Montoya and Kate did have a sexual relationship. Not a healthy romance, but still.

I kinda followed some of the Bombshells stuff, so that mind be where I got that from then.

Victoria Cartagena, who portrayed Montoya on Gotham (or rather, appeared in a handful of episodes while being credited for the entire first season), has been cast on Batwoman as... Montoya.

The Arrowverse once again gives a second chance to a superhero-TV actor who had too short a run, as it did with Matt Ryan and John Wesley Shipp. Neat. I always felt Cartagena was given a raw deal -- the show set Montoya and Crispus Allen up as major allies of Jim Gordon in one episode, and then they suddenly vanished immediately thereafter. It made no sense.

So I guess we can assume this Montoya is a doppelganger of the one from Gotham's Earth.

It has to be asked. Will Montoya eventually become the Question?

I'm sure she will. I didn't realize that she had a relationship with Batwoman, but I've been hoping that we see Maggie Sawyer turn up on the show--although that seems unlikely.

If they did bring in Maggie, hopefully they'd get Floriana Lima back rather than do another post-Crisis recast like Morgan Edge and Sam Lane.

Yeah, pretty much every character who becomes a superhero in the comics eventually ends up one in the Arrowverse. The other question is, will they introduce Vic Sage as first Question, or just right to Renee?

Is Morgan Edge a recast or a retconned Kryptonian imposter?

We're talking about the actors in real life, not their characters within the story. So yes, it's a recast, no matter what the in-story excuse is. Call me old-fashioned, but I think reality is actually more real than make-believe.

I didn't get a chance to comment on the credibility of The Illuminerdi before their Batwoman scoop was proven correct, but they are building a track record of breaking legitimate spoiler news, as, in addition to what they reported about Batwoman, they were the first to announce/reveal the news that the Green Ranger in Power Rangers Dino Fury would be female and the first to announce who would be playing the Black and Gold Rangers.

Their announcement of who would be playing the Green Dino Fury Ranger ended up being wrong, but that's not really a slight against them.
