BATTLESTAR URANTIA - nuBSG FanFilm Series

Okay... I need a bit of help here... I have tracked down the Microsoft keyboards that were used in the CIC of both Valkyrie and Pegasus, but I am unable to track down the kind of keyboard that was used on the walls of the Pegasus corridors and in Admiral Cain's quarters. A picture is below:

If anybody knows what brand/model of keyboard this is, I'd love to know. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, I have, and it's a no-go. If you look very closely, you can see that that serial number is actually a stuck-on label probably but there by the BSG art department, to cover the "real" brand or model number.

It's not the color I'm worried about... it's the style/model of keyboard itself... it has to match this one. When I do things, I do them right. I already found the same ones that were used in CIC, and now I need to find these. If I can find out what kind it is, all I need to do is secure two of them as physical set pieces, and the rest can be cloned in CG, and added to the CGI set extensions.

I dunno, maybe it's just me, but I'd love to see you work in a EDP Starfighter or two as support for the Vipers. There is nothing saying that there aren't craft like them in the NuBSG universe. You could even put then in some of those sweet textures you've come up with....

Well this is just ducky...

Kat hinted to me that the keyboard was a cheap Chinese-made one, that came from a local PC builder in Vancouver. He was correct in that it is made in China, because I found a seller on ebay who has one of these from Pegasus for sale, and I contacted him, and asked him for any info he had. He said that on the back of the keyboard, it says "Centride" and "Made in China".

Unfortunately, now that I finally have a company name, there is nothing to be found of that company on the internet. So...

I did some searching among Chinese manufacturers, and have found 2 companies that may be my best bet as the possible makers of this keyboard. But aside from getting a personal look at this prop up-close, I don't know what else I can do, unless someone on this BBS happens to have a keyboard exactly like this one, and can tell me more.

And yes, I know how silly this all seems over a keyboard. That is why I'm so intent on this now... because something as seemingly insignificant and simple as locating a keyboard has now proven to be an exceedingly difficult enterprise, which only serves to draw me in more, until I find the answer.

I FOUND IT!!! LOL...

Just a couple minutes after I made the post above, I finally found it, lol... I am convinced it's this unit, and the BSG art department slightly doctored it up a bit.

A little persistence pays off...

Ah... actually, I have toyed with the idea of using those at one point, but decided against it. I don't want the audience thinking I'm mixing universes. There WILL however, be little "Easter eggs" starfighter-wise, throughout the series for people to find, though they will all be BSG-related.

Thank you. New stuff is coming, be assured. In the meantime, here is a new test render of the Starblazers Viper, in its proper color. The color scheme for the Starblazers Vipers is gold on black... but earlier renders produced a more yellowish color, so this has been adjusted to a proper gold.

Those of you who have read the entire run of my story here on the Trek BBS will understand the meaning behind this. I thought I'd whip it up to use as a prop in the final segment of the final Urantia episode. Enjoy. :D

Not much in the way of visuals to show you all yet, though work IS proceeding on our first video demo.

But, Kat has started up a new VFX website with resources for LW users, and since he was kind enough to devote a page to Battlestar Urantia on it, I figured I'd give him a little plug here. If you want to stop by, check out the BSU page, and then browse around his site, and see what he's got to offer!

Okay... here's a chance for some of you who are not actors to appear on Battlestar Urantia, and not have to act or do anything, lol... if you want. Basically, this is what's up...

I am looking for photos that anybody might have of people in BSG (nuBSG) costumes, be it yourself, or a buddy. I am using photos of fans in BSG costumes as a free "cheat", to use as the photos decorating the memorial wall on Urantia.

So far, I have plenty from the Propworx auction, and I have many of people in deck crew costumes, but I need more regular Colonial duty blues shots, and Viper pilots or Marines.

So, if anybody wants to be seen on BSU, and can spare a photo or more of someone in a nuBSG costume, I will "BSG-ize" it, complete with cut corners, and use it among the other memorial wall photos on the set. Any interested parties should PM me. Thanks.

Okay... looks like we have our second actor for BSU!

We're pleased to welcome Lee Steele to our cast. Lee will be playing the role of Wardlow Ethem, the leader of the Emilon pilgrims.

BTW... for our fellow fanfilm producers in England... Mr. Steele is in Leeds, and is always looking for more work, so if you feel you may have a part for him, his info page is below:

Is this memorial wall strictly for military officers in uniform or are there going to be civilian photos as well?
