BATTLESTAR URANTIA - nuBSG FanFilm Series

It sounds a little like urine or urethra, but other than that it isn't any sillier sounding than Battlestar Galactica.

The CGI looks nice.

Well, the same thing applies to the Cylon attack, that applies to urinating... when you gotta go, you gotta go.

Here's a new image of the Starblazers Mk. II's... this time testing the different damage textures. You may note that the wings now sport emblems of various Colonies... there are 12 Vipers in the Starblazers squadron, one to represent each world.

I really don't care about the name or what direction they want to take it. It's not my blood sweat and tears being poured into it. I really look forward to viewing the finished product though. :)

Of course everything looks so fantastic that I have to find something to pick on to combat the overwhelming positivity. ;)

Here's another Viper test, this time with pilots in the cockpits! :)

I am pleased and beyond honored to announce that Mr. Andrew Probert has been kind enough to lend a bit of help to our production, in the form of allowing us the use of one of his ragtag fleet ships from TOS BSG, and he has also granted us permission for us to use a number of concept RTF ships from TOS that were never used, for Urantia's ragtag fleet! I will be posting pics soon.

Again, thanks for all your help, Andy! :D

Here are four of the five ships we have permission from Mr. Probert to use...

Yes, they certainly are. :)

Here is something new... a sneak peak at the corridor sets for Battlestar Urantia...

Battlestar Urantia corridor by Cagri-kun.

This is Cagri-kun's first WIP, and it shows the design direction the sets on the ship take... a cross between Galactica and Pegasus... an in-between, if you will. I think he struck a perfect balance. :)

I like the shape, but I feel it could be bigger compared to the stick figure. The one thing I never liked about the Pegasus hallways was how short and narrow they were; it really felt like a TV set. The Galactica hallways seemed very spacious and filmic by comparison.

Aye, I spoke to Cagri, and he said it'll be easy for him to widen it a tad, since almost everyone is saying what you are... that it looks a tad narrow.

Updates will come... he's adding more detail to everything, like adding the main lights, and slapping a few intercom/phone boxes, and other wall items on it, as well as the door.

But I'm glad you like the shape... I really think he nailed down the look I was after perfectly.

Okay... here's a small update to the corridor... panels/plates added on the middle wall sides, and a subtle metal finish added to the wall panels, similar to the look Pegasus had. Still more to be done, and the final version will be wider.

This is looking interesting....One thing I may have missed...

Is this live action with CGI (i.e. like the original), or all CGI, or some variation of those? Specifically, do you have any real sets or is all of the background CGI like the corridors?

Gotta say, your hanger bay looks nice.

Thank you! To answer your questions, this is going to be mostly CG, but we will have all live actors, and the main sets will be mostly physical, with stuff like this corridor being used as digital set extensions, to create the illusion that the corridor is much longer than it really is physically, much like the hangar set and digital extensions were used on BSG.

A section of corridor will be built as a physical set, and the "main" sets will be real, like Commander Standish's quarters, parts of the CIC, etc.

We will also be doing some live location shooting, as well.

Thank you muchly. :D

Thanks!

Well, I was scrounging around online, and found this old and unused concept from TOS BSG by artist Dan Goozee for a ragtag fleet ship, and I thought it would make a great addition to Urantia's RTF, because of its distinctive and unique look.

So, I was wondering if anyone here at the Trek BBS would be interested in taking this ship on in 3D? I've also posted inquiries on other forums as well. If anyone can help us out, and take this ship on in LW format, we'd appreciate it, and you would of course be fully credited.
