Batman with Ben Affleck-- Rumors, pic, etc;

Kindly stop assuming I'm a moron. Yes, obviously it's a joke, but a joke only works if the audience understands the reference. That is my point. A joke about superheroes and tights works for us because we live in a universe where comic-book superheroes are known for wearing tights. So it's incongruous for that same joke to appear in movies and cinematic universes where the actual superheroes do not wear tights.
Batman 89 wears what appear to be form-fitting leggings, i.e. tights. Most people in-universe have not seen the costume up close.
In fact, most people in-universe have never seen the Batman. But the fact that they wouldn't get the joke doesn't undermine the Joker's speech. It's not as if there's a big audience laugh reaction that needs explaining. As with all of the Joker's jokes, it's for his own amusement, not anyone else's.

No, that's not the point. The point is, if the Joker lives in a universe where the only real superhero does not wear tights, where would the idea of a superhero wearing tights have even come from in the first place? How would it be a reference that his listeners in-universe would recognize, which is a necessary part of getting a joke? Although, as I said, it might work if that universe has its own tradition of fictional tights-wearing superheroes, with Batman being the first real superhero.
I would comment more substantively on this silly nitpick, but I see others have so I won't bother. Suffice it to say that if you are going to nitpick it in such a way then the purpose of it has gone over your head.

Well, I think the responses show that the audience did get the reference. It's you that did not.

I don't know, Captain America's Gerber Baby outfit comes pretty close.

That outfit design is so weird. Not the aesthetic since the silliness of a flag as a uniform is just a conceit you have to buy into with this character (see also: dressing up as a flying rodent.) No, it's that it sort of works OK when he's not wearing the helmet and the design of the helmet itself is OK...ish, but somehow when you put them together it just looks really naff. Maybe it's the covered neck? I don't know.

Either way they were wise to abandon it.

You'd think after three disappointing movies I'd have learnt my lesson by now but dammit, if that doesn't make me want to see this one too! Stupid, gullible inner fanboy. ;)

It's pretty obvious WB is desperately seeking approval/good will after releasing the Comic-Con trailer an hour after it debuts at SDCC.

Now they release this featurette of the actors having a good time and showing of some really cool behind the scenes footage

Why do I get the feeling that Superman is only in about five minutes of this movie?

Well, technically he's still dead in the DCEU, so although probably nobody on earth really expects that to remain the case, I guess it makes sense from both a marketing & story perspective that they don't want to confirm his return via previews just yet.

Yes he is featured in that video and has featured in publicity photos. So it's not secret he's in it. But all of the behind the scenes stuff I've seen and heard about hardly features him at all. Sounds like he doesn't show up until at least the third act.

This video (from almost a year ago) makes a pretty good argument that Batfleck's solo movie will be Under The Red Hood.

I do have to agree that the movies should never touch Batman Year One or TDKR again, like he said, there are a lot of other stories out there.
How big of a role does Deathstroke play in Under The Red Hood?

Deathstroke isn't in Under The Red Hood. It's the Joker and Ra's who are the villains in that story. I doubt they'd make an adaptation of UTRH though. It be too similar to Captain America TWS.

It's the tightness of the cowl, making Evans look chubby and the whole thing like a costume you'd get from Rubies for Halloween.

Chris Evans wanted to keep on using the outfit from The First Avenger, but Whedon overruled him, insisting on something that was more comic-accurate.

Oops.

Newer rumors suggest that a part of The Batman will take place inside Arkham Asylum and could take cues from the homonymous video games.

The same was rumored of Suicide Squad. Considering Affleck's Batman movie is still in the writing stage, I find it highly unlikely that story leaks are happening.

Deathstroke isn't in Under The Red Hood.
He's in the comic but not the animation.

The Arkham Asylum rumour derives from Devin Faraci saying there will be "many villains", but he is not exactly 100% reliable as a source. I think fans' positive reaction to the Batfleck action scenes has led to a general desire for a costumed version of The Raid, but I suspect Affleck as a writer and actor will not want to put such an overwhelming emphasis on fight scenes.

^^Could be. Like I said, these are just internet rumors. Another rumor that if I remember correctly has since been shot down is that the stand-alone Batman film will be based on the "Hush" storyline.

Since the only superhero movie to have been based squarely on a comic is Watchmen (that I know of, there might be some obscure ones), my guess is we will see "inspired by" at the most, not "based on".
