Batman: Arkham Knight: Same Bat-Game, Same Bat-Developer!

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight

I don't see why it would. You just won't be getting it in October.

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight

5 minutes of gameplay footage, including some Batmobile mayhem!

That just looked freaking awesome!

Also coming out of E3 is news of some console-exclusive DLC. The Scarecrow Nightmare Missions, as it's called, will be available on PS4 only.

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight

Just watched that myself. Is it just me, or does Batman's voice sound not at all like Kevin Conroy?

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight

I took the difference in his voice as him just getting older.

Yep. It's confirmed as Conroy, but the guy is almost 60. He started voicing Batman in his 30s -- he can't do it forever. That's the same reason Mark Hamill doesn't do The Joker anymore (it was hell on his throat), and David Hayter can't do Snake anymore -- after a while, affecting a voice that sounds like you've been gargling cigarettes and razor blades takes its toll. Rocksteady has already said that this is the studio's final Batman game, and if there is another sequel I expect WB Montreal to do it and get Roger Craig Smith to do the voice acting.

Yep, Smith was an excellent choice for Origins. His imitation of Conroy's Batman is pretty spot-on.

Yeah, that's not too bad. And honestly, January and February are the most boring months out of my year, so I'll be happy for a new game to keep me occupied.

Here's the second Ace Chemicals Infiltration trailer:

As much as I'm loving these trailers, doesn't it seem a little early for them? They're just making me upset that the game still won't be out for another 7 months!

Here's the third (and final) Ace Chemicals Infiltration trailer, with a peek at the PS4 exclusive Scarecrow Nightmare Mission DLC tacked on at the end:

Arkham Knight has been given an M rating (all three previous games were rated T).

Rocksteady's comments on this:

"From our point of view, we never wrote it or made it with a rating in mind. We never did that in the previous two games... We just felt that this is the story that we really wanted to tell."

...

"I'm not blind to the fact that [the M rating] does mean some fans will miss out... I don't want to be oblivious to that fact. It would have been wrong to water down the game and deliver a story we didn't believe in to keep the game 'mass market' or enable it for more people. We feel that's the wrong way to go about it. We said we love the story and we don't want to jepoardize that."
Good on them for sticking to their vision. :techman:

Meh, it's going to make a crapton of money regardless of the rating, so Warner Bros. probably felt safe enough to let Rocksteady go for an M.
