Batman: Arkham Knight: Same Bat-Game, Same Bat-Developer!

Re: Batman: Arkham 4

That exactly what I hope the poster is referencing. Azrael's prophecy was too good a setup for another game to just leave it alone.

Re: Batman: Arkham 4

I'm still holding out hope for an Arkham game based on the 'No Man's Land' story. AC sort of went there in microcosm, but I'd really like to see it done with the whole city.

It needn't even be exclusively a Batman game. Being to play as the likes of Nightwing, Robin, Az, Huntress, Catwoman & the Cassandra Cain Batgirl would certainly add some variety. Hell, they could even establish early on that Bats is missing, possibly dead (no, of course not *really* dead) and you swap in and out of a stable of those characters trying to fill the void and find out what happened.

But you still start the game as Dick Grayson as Batman

:D

Re: Batman: Arkham 4

Ign have an article speculating that Hush may be the main villain

Re: Batman: Arkham 4

Looks like it's time to retitle the thread...

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight

Have you guys seen the trailer? That's CGI. I hate when they do that because it tells you almost nothing about the actual game.

Agreed. We probably just saw the whole opening scene

The game will probably start with Batman in the middle of the street.

Eh, it doesn't really bother me when a game's first trailer is mostly or all CGI. Its purpose is mostly to confirm the game's existence and start generating buzz. In-game stuff will come later.

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight

Looks like a new Batsuit‎ design.

It is. Infodump from Game Informer:

No multiplayer
3 islands, 5 times the area of Arkham City
Streets wider for the Batmobile, which is an integrated part of the game (like gliding or the grapple)
Buildings generally taller, too
Better hang time, longer glides
Game set one year after Arkham City
Joker's death has shifted the balance of power (he's still dead)
Batman starts with his Arkham City suit but quickly gets into a more armor-plated, higher-ability suit
Gotham has been evacuated and only criminals remain
Kevin Conroy remains as Batman, all the other villains are still voiced by their respective actors
50 dudes on screen at once
Individual raindrops run down Batman's cape and suit
Line launcher can be fired in mid-air to create a line between two buildings and instant perch point
All quickfire gadgets can be used during flight, in fact
Batman now uses weapons that he gets from counters, can beat thugs with a baseball bat until it breaks on their faces
A new throw counter that counters and throws a thug into another thug
Batman can summon the Batmobile and it drives to him remotely
Batmobile shoots EMP missiles that immobilize targets without harming occupants
Batman can eject from the Batmobile at full speed into a glide
"Arkham Knight" is actually the name of Batman's main rival in the game
Riddler challenges now include deadly races
Oracle exists in-game and can be visited
Batman can now chain stealth takedowns together, up to 3 times
No loading screens

It's just a teaser to confirm the existence of the game, which at this point is fine by me!

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight

This is the next gen Batman! I want to see what the actual game will look like. I had very little doubt that Rocksteady was working in a 2014 Batman game afterall. I guess I'll see what Game Infirmer has on it.

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight

And you will get to see that. It's early yet. This is literally the first official announcement of this game; we'll be seeing plenty more before it's released.

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight

Hmmm, looks like a Tumblerized Burtonmobile. I'm curious how the vehicles will integrate, that will be different.

If the game visuals weren't 100% ready they'd probably get lambasted for how terrible the game looks. "Next gen? My ass!"

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight

I don't know what people are worried about. The first Arkham City trailer was also 100% CG, did not depict anything from the final game and yet that still managed to be genuinely reflective of the final product.

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight

I was just reading over the game info...

5 times the size of Arkham City?! That's huge!
