Yep. Do that. And if you want to talk to someone, I'm sure one of us will be around.

I know this must be really hard for you. But please remember we are here for you and are rooting for you!

Actually, what *I* wish is that I could talk to your GF. I'd tell her how big of a fool she is for even THINKING about leaving you for a *single instant*. I'd tell her that guys like you do not come along every day, and she outta get while the gettin' is good!

I'd tell her the pickins' do not get any better later in life...and the one she's got is DEFINITELY a keeper, so 'fer cryin' out loud, HANG ON FOR DEAR LIFE, GIRLFRIEND!!!.

So she has to learn another language. So what? It would be good 'fer her! :D Shoot...I'd GLADLY learn Solvenian if I could find someone as good as you!

In fact, now that I think about it...got a brother? :D :p

^ Thanks Vash. But honestly, I understand why she's leaving and I'm not mad at her for going.

And yeah, I do have a bro, but he's married. Sorry :)

^ Well, I know you are not mad and her and that you understand. That is sorta one of the things about you that makes you...well, you! ;)

However, I'm speaking purely from a pragmatic girl-to-girl perspective here. I mean, I certainly care about YOU and want you to be happy....but my advice would come out of more than just a concern for you! It would come out of concern for *her*....coupled with years of experience with alot of guys....most of whom turned out to be selfish bums. :D

My advice to ANY girl you guys' age would be that if you've found a good one, don't even think about walking away. Cus the good ones are so rare. ;)

I didn't say what I said just to make you feel good, kiddo. ;) I said it because it would be my genuine advice to any girl in the position she is in right now. It was not out of anger at making my friend so sad...but out of a desire for her to not make the same mistakes I made. ;)

^ Thanks Vash. :)
And I get what you're saying. But in a way even I think this might be better for her. Cos I know she's often miserable her (not cos of me, but cos of lack of things to do).

We just both need to take some time, and think of what we want.

This thread has been slow since the B5 thread started. So I figured I'd say something.

I hope it's all right if I comment on my viewing of B5 in this thread instead of the marathon one. I'm not able to watch the episodes at the same pace as the marathon is, so I can't participate in it. I was going to just lurk until you caught up with where I'm at, but I have a strict rule for myself of absolutely no spoilers and some of the first posts had already given too many things away for the future for me. They weren't spoilers in the way others would define them so weren't in spoiler code but they were enough to break my own spoiler rules. So I'm playing it safe and staying out.

I just finished watching the second season's "Revelations," and I have to say I was quite surprised about <span class="spoiler"><font class="small">Spoiler:</font><hr /><span> Delenn. I had seen that face in pictures but had never looked closely and assumed it was an entirely different character that would be introduced later on. </span><hr /></span> That was probably the first thing in a long time that I've seen on a TV show that really took me by surprise.

I do have to say that season 2 is already making a much better impression on me than season 1. If this keeps up, I can see myself really enjoying the show and counting it among my favorite programs!

Well, actually, whoever did the cover designs for the DVD sets spoiled this for us, ya know. ;) At least in R1. <span class="spoiler"><font class="small">Spoiler:</font><hr /><span> The cover of the DVD set clearly shows Delenn's new look.</span><hr /></span>

/\ Hehe... yup. Not that I noticed when I got the set the first time. Instead, I just noticed the "new human guy on the front".

Ah. I've been getting the DVDs off netflix and thus haven't seen the DVD cover art. <span class="spoiler"><font class="small">Spoiler:</font><hr /><span>I did notice that Delenn's new look is part of the menu design on the disk, but before seeing her in the episode, I just assumed it was an entirely new character. Hadn't looked close enough to realize it was the same actress!</span><hr /></span>

In other comments, Susan Ivanova is really growing on me as a character. At first I found her to be a little dry, but I'm really warming up to her. She's fun and has her unique style that makes for interesting stories.

Well my g/f left today... I'm doing reasonably okay, considering.
I've been watching TV all day... BSG was good this week.

Um yeah... that's about it. I'm hoping I'll hear from my g/f soon... just so I know she arrived safely.

Yep...but <span class="spoiler"><font class="small">Spoiler:</font><hr /><span> go on Amazon.com and check out the season 2 cover.</span><hr /></span> I really can't believe they did that!

So, did anyone see Scifi Friday last night? I saw SG-1 and BSG so far...I have Atlantis on TiVo but haven't watched it yet.

BSG was pretty good though, especially!

Last night's episode of BSG <span class="spoiler"><font class="small">Spoiler:</font><hr /><span>completely threw me off from what I was expecting. I'm so glad Adama and Cain both changed their minds but up until then it</span><hr /></span> was so tense.

<span class="spoiler"><font class="small">Spoiler:</font><hr /><span>The beginning was nice, playing against how people were expecting the episode to begin, but the ending was a bit of a cheat not even going into how Helo and Tyrol were let off.</span><hr /></span>

Yep...I agree with all of this. You're right. Although I did like the part of the ending with <span class="spoiler"><font class="small">Spoiler:</font><hr /><span> the President and Adama. After all they have been through, especially during the first half of the season, it is quite touching that they are so close now. I was very impressed with EJO's acting in this scene. You could see that he was on the verge of tears...but you could feel the tension within him - the effort he was making to 'hold it together'. That scene was some of the best acting I've seen him do on that show - perfect characterization.</span><hr /></span>

I thought last night's BSG was a big let down after what we had before actually. It felt disjointed, all over the place, and extremely rushed. We were set up for this big important mission, but we barely saw it. There were some good scenes though like <span class="spoiler"><font class="small">Spoiler:</font><hr /><span>Adama being promoted to Admiral, and Adama talking to Boomer</span><hr /></span>.

<span class="spoiler"><font class="small">Spoiler:</font><hr /><span>Now that I think about it, when Adama and Cain both had second thoughts about executing each other, it reminds me of what Marty said in Back to the Future, "Have you ever been in a situation where you knew you had to act a certain way but, when you got there, you didn't know if you could go through with it?"

I never felt tenser watching anything in my entire life but now that it's over, I have to wonder how well the episode will hold up in repeat viewings.</span><hr /></span>

Wow, a post entirely in spoiler code. Impressive.

BSG is on my list of sci fi series I eventually want to watch. Until recently I hadn't seen too much sci fi other than Star Trek and a smattering of just a couple eps of some other shows. Now that there's no new Star Trek, I've discovered the wonder of other sci fi shows. I think it will keep me occupied for quite some time!

Yeah, it was impossible to do any other way, unless I want to be burnt and crispy.

I think BSG is much more along the lines of what ENT should've been. ENT should've only had a few alien races, it should've taken much longer to go from planet to planet, and the humans could've acted much, much more like us and, because of its timeframe, wouldn't have violated anything Gene Roddenberry established about humanity in the 23rd and 24th Centuries.

I'd thought to myself that if ENT wanted to be relevant and do hard-hitting stories they could've had an Abu Ghraib type of episode... then I saw the idea used on BSG.

So, did B5 really have that much of an impact on this thread? There are so many other things out there than one television show. ;)

Anyway, I will finish my first official week of the new semester tomarrow. It's been going well, and I hope it will only improve. I'm going to apply for my two degrees this week which I need my councelor's help for but it will be cool to get them in May.

The last two episodes of Galactica have been at the very best average (The muched praised Ressurection Ship II IMO was one of the worst of the series), but compared to other TV now a days like Skating with celebrites, I'm glad I'm still watching this show. I don't know why, but Stargate Atlantis has caught my attention recently. I don't know what is going on, but I caught the end of this last week's episode, and I loved Tayla's singing. I thought it added more tension to the situation. Seems like others thought it was out of place. Oh well. I hope everyone had a good weekend. I'm kinda glad it's over.

^ Yeesh! The bar has been quiet since the B5 thing started.

We've all been getting our drinks over at the Zocalo. I must remeber to pop in here too. :D
