Basically, the second version has a much better soundtrack (by Christopher Franke, who did the music for the series as a whole) and it's edited a lot better - the episode makes more sense and flows better. IMHO, anyway. Which one do you have?

So we can at least agree that we're not starting with "In The Beginning". Progress!!

I suppose the easiest way is to have a look at the credits. If the music's by Christopher Franke, that's the second version.

I thought "special edition" meant something like enhanced picture quality, not slightly different movie

I nearly bought it on DVD the other day, but I wouldn't have checked which version it was! Thanks for the info, SB!

Yes...the plan is for the B5 gang to have their own thread to discuss B5 in. That way it won't clog up this thread.

I've already cleared it with both Bonz and Neroon that it would be okay for this gang to have a thread dedicated to B5 in this forum. :thumbsup:

I am glad you will be discussing B5 in another thread. I'm only up to the end of the first season right now and don't want to be spoiled! So, if you guys happen to want to post something about the later seasons in this thread as well, might I request you use the spoiler codes as we did for Serenity? :-) I'll stay out of the other thread once you get past the first season.

I don't know I'll participate much in the other discussion, as I can't watch the episodes with you. I'm renting them through netflix (actually, through my mother's account which is why my progress has been slow), so I can't go back to the beginning. I might just lurk around that other thread to take your comments in. Have fun!

Thanks Vash. This has been such a fun thread for the last few years that I was hoping it would stay more like a misc/lounge than being turned into something I won't be able to participate in.

Thanks Vash. This has been such a fun thread for the last few years that I was hoping it would stay more like a misc/lounge than being turned into something I won't be able to participate in.

Yep. That's why I got a separate thread cleared. This thread is supposed to be for EVERYONE. Not just for those who are doing the B5 Marathon. And I plan to keep it that way, so no worries there!

We will still discuss TV shows and movies in here as we always have, but the B5 thing is a dedicated and extended discussion, so it will be moved out of here.
