Have you found the Fruity Oaty Commercial easter egg?
...

Yep, found it (well, I looked it up on dvdeastereggs.com).

For anyone who wants to find it, here's how:
On the main menu, go right when at the bottom of the screen and you can get to a Joss commentary on making the Fruity Oaty Bar commercial. It'll highlight in red on the right side of the screen.

I have to admit that I wasn't as impressed with Serenity as I was hoping to be. I had watched the entire series on DVD and hadn't seen Serentiy yet until my brother got it for me for Christmas. After all the presents were finished being opened on Christmas morning, I raced downstairs to our enormous flatscreen TV to watch it (my sister-in-law happened downstairs during one of the more intense action sequences and was quite traumatized by it. at least that was worth a laugh on my part!). It was enjoyable, yes, but I found it didn't live up to my standards from the show. As another poster mentioned, it wasn't as funny as I expected. The constant wit in the dialogue was what I enjoyed most about Firefly. Although Serenity wasn't completely lacking in one-liners, there weren't nearly as many as I would have liked.

So, what do my fellow Niners think about Serenity?
All in all, I liked it very much, but I absolutely hate that <span class="spoiler"><font class="small">Spoiler:</font><hr /><span>Book and Wash had to die! Especially the scene where Wash gets killed totally surprised and shocked me :(</span><hr /></span>

^

I agree. I didn't mind <span class="spoiler"><font class="small">Spoiler:</font><hr /><span> Book's death so much, but Wash's seemed unnecessary and anticlimactic. If he was going to die, I would have preferred it to be a little more dramatic! </span><hr /></span>

Completely agree with Johi36 and stkids! :( (Can't figure out yet how to do the blacking-out-text thing, so will remain cryptic!)

Thought the film was great - it wasn't just another episode, they did build it up well into a film of its own, with several themes coming together. And the action scenes WERE terrifying! :)

Serenity was a great movie. I'm actually looking foward to seeing it again when we get it from blockbuster.

To put text in spoiler code put it in this format:

[*code]your text here[/code*]

Don't have the * in your version though.

;)

I gotta say that I loved <span class="spoiler"><font class="small">Spoiler:</font><hr /><span>Wash's death</span><hr /></span>. I think I've never been so shocked and surprised by a death scene in my entire life. <span class="spoiler"><font class="small">Spoiler:</font><hr /><span>I couldn't care less about Book's death though (never really trusted that guy anyway).</span><hr /></span>

I must admit, i cried when <span class="spoiler"><font class="small">Spoiler:</font><hr /><span> Wash died. </span><hr /></span>

Thanks everyone, for using the spoiler code for Serenity. Your mod has not seen it yet, and so she deeply appreciates your indulgence. ;)

I ordered the DVD, however - should be here sometime this week. :)

As for B5, when do you guys wanna start? I was thinking we should start soon, now that the holidays are over and stuff.

I agree with you.

<span class="spoiler"><font class="small">Spoiler:</font><hr /><span> Wash's death caught me totally off guard. I was beyond shocked. </span><hr /></span>

I'm not so sure about starting with "The Gathering". For one thing it's not included in the box sets so it's not a given that everyone - especially those looking to get into the series for the first time (lucky them) - will even have the episode. For another there are two versions, which might make for an interesting compare-and-contrast discussion...but there's also the matter of whether a certain spoiler in the second (and better) version will manage to stay under wraps for those who are seeing the show for the first time. Then there's the various...changes...between "The Gathering" and the series proper... Meh, I'm not so sure. I'd rather start with the series itself but I'll go along with whatever's decided.

As for the movies...well, technically, "In The Beginning" should be the starting point in that case, and I really don't think that would be a good idea. Would it? :p :D

^ Definately no In the Beginning first. Too many spoilers of whats to come. I think I watched it sometime in season 4?

I've seen them all anyway, so I'll go along with what you all decide. :)

I didn't even know that there was a second version!!!
What's the difference?
