^It's ehm ... Niner group bonding ... yeah .. that's what it is :D

Okay .. Niners ... + SB ... I'm pretty sure she'd want to join :D

I'd really like this :D

Niner group bonding? Is that done with self sealing stembolts?

I have had an insane week to put it into an understatement. On top of that, from the beginning I made it a point to avoid TNZ and time is not one of those things that changed why.

As far as Christmas I don't want to anyone feeling sad because a short family is all I know. Someday I'll probably get married and that'll change but I can't feel down when I don't even know what it's like to have a large family.

It's safe to say I'll have a good Christmas... and I hope things turn out all right -- relatively speaking -- for Vash.

So what movies have you watched for the holiday season? Yesterday I saw The Chronicles of Narnia. Today I showed my father Sin City and Revenge of the Sith.

Narnia was unexpectedly good. I actually like it more than Harry Potter.

Revenge of the Sith is my favorite SW movie. I was never a fan of the original trilogy and I only went to see the first two movies of the prequel trilogy because my friends were going but ROTS interested me, it was the movie where Anakin became Darth Vader and because of what had to happen it meant this movie would be completely unlike any of the others. The final act is the most potent and makes ROTS more than the sum of its parts.

Sin City is a cross between extreme machismo, artsiness, B&W pulp, and Tarantino-esque violence. When I used to work in a toy store, I bought a toy of a guy in an electric chair asking "Is that the best you can do you pansies?" I got it at the time because I thought it was amusing and now I know it's Marv. :p

Well... let's just say that so for (in the last few days), my g/f has been picking the movies that we're watching. First we watched Rudolph, then yesterday we watched White Christmas, and today we're watching The Muppet Christmas Carol.
We did watch one movie that I wanted to see, which is Transporter 2. And we're supposedly doing a LOTR marathon next week. :)

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYBODY!

^ Good greeting list there!

As for me, I haven't watched any movies yet. Usually I watch Christmas Vacation and Charlie Brown Christmas, but I don't know if I will this year or not.

Yesterday I went on an X-Files marathon though. Does that count? :p I watched like 4 or 5 episodes of that show yesterday!

Dude, you gotta watch Scrooged. Best christmas movie ever!

I also went to see Chronicles of Narnia. I was a little disappointed by the beginning - I felt it was a bit slow to start. But once it got going, I really enjoyed it. I was quite impressed by the little girl who plays Lucy. I expect to see her in more films in the future; she was quite good.

My family has a tradition of going to see movies on holidays, so we'll go to see a movie on both Christmas and New Year's Eve or New Year's Day. We'll probably go to see The Producers on Christmas and maybe Syriana for New Year's.

I've been watching a lot of Star Trek the last few days. Two nights ago it was 4 episodes of DS9's season 2 (Rules of Acquisition thru Sactuary) and then last night I watched the Times Arrow two parter. Hopefully if I get season 4 of ENT this weekend, I can finally see that season.

I want to wish everyone a very marry christmas and happy holiday season. Hope you are safe and have fun. :)

The X Files rocks! One of my favourite ever shows.

Mine too.

I've been watching it from the beginning over the past year. I'm up through the middle of season 7. But I've been going slower lately because this is the last season of full-time DD. After he leaves, it sorta loses alot for me.

But it's still an awesome show! :)

^
X-Files was must-watch stuff for me until, I think, about season 4. Then I sort of got fed up - a zillion questions, about a dozen answers. It seemed to me the show sort of disappeared up its own mythos after a while, like it had no particular direction and just kept treading the same ground.

But to each their own. Especially in this thread.

Meanwhile I have a small crisis - I have no idea where my B5 S1 box set is. Assuming Vash talks me into this viewing party thingy I might have to find it. :D

It's the 25th here so Merry Christmas (or whatever it is you do today) to all Bar 'n' Grillers. :D

Merry Christmas all! Feliz Navidad! :D :D :D For some reason, in my family we celebrate Christmas Eve as much as the day itself, so ... *opens a bottle of best bloodwine, and passes around plates of Sisko-style Cajun crawfish to all* Hope it turns out to be a good Christmas for every one of you, and that the New Year comes around in similarly positive fashion! :)

As for movies - always seem to end up watching Jaws at Christmas! It's because I flat-out REFUSE to watch it in the summer, so we feel like watching it by this time of the year ... no danger of wanting to go for a swim directly afterwards!

But this Christmas will be watching a lot of Firefly - a friend gave me the DVD set yesterday, and I actually saw the pilot episode for the first time ... had forgotten just how cool it is (and how disturbing the concept of Reavers is)! Aaaand ... am trying to convert a friend to DS9, though my taped-off-the-tv collection is patchiest in season one (no Emissary!) - showed her Duet and Fascination, in an attempt to illustrate that DS9 is intensely cool but that it's not ALL doom and gloom! The two extremes, sort of. I'm thinking Civil Defense is a good next move (what do you think?), since she's only here for the holidays and I can't really go into the chronological story arcs.

Saw Peter Jackson's King Kong at the cinema the other day though, and was really impressed; even though it coulda used a little editing (the story's not really enough for three hours!) ... Still, I really enjoyed it - PJ hasn't lost his touch!

And Narnia starts soon ... though should really re-read the books first ...

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all! Later today I plan on watching some season 7 episodes of DS9.

Yeah...you'd better get right on that! :p

I was thinking we could start this B5 project after the New Year. Once the holidays are over people will have more free time so that they can keep up.

I guess we have to figure out how quickly we wanna go through 'em too. How does two episodes a week sound to people? More? Less? You guys let me know what you think!

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas!
