The weirdest part about Troi in the pilot is how she not just seems to experience the emotions she senses, but seems to get overwhelmed by them. Each time she picks up the jellyfish's vibes she either starts crying or looks like she's about to kill somebody. I think that's why she keeps repeating the emotions she's picking up/experiencing, she's literally flooded by them and can't grasp any other thought.

In-universe this could be chalked up to those jellyfish just having incredibly intense emotions or something. Out of universe it seems like something the creative team might have tried out, but quickly realized that it wasn't working, just like the skant/ 1980s cheerleader hair combo.

Why did Kirk want to have sex with Khan?

He wanted him to have some of his Space Seed.

What do you call it when you have had sex with Dr McCoy multiple times?

Q: How many people like McCoy does it take to change a lightbulb?

A: None, because "I am a doctor, not a lightbulb changer!!!"

  9. How many Trills does it take to change a light bulb?

Two. One to change the lightbulb and one to talk about his previous hosts’ experiences changing lightbulbs.

Trill don't change light bulbs. They just replace the filament.

Not a Trek joke, but it is a true story.

My wife and I were are at the grocery today, and I told her they had pirates in the store.

She asked what do you mean, pirates?

I said, Did you see the corn on the cob? It's $3.99 for a 4 pack .... THAT'S A BUCK AN EAR!

Yeah, I think I'm sleeping on the couch tonight.

Do you know the common point between the Enterprise's D sailship holodeck fantasy and the quantum theory? They both include plank (Planck) time...

There is a ship in the Voyager Relaunch novels called the Planck. I suspect it was actually named for Chakotay...

    As seen on Facebook .....

Star Trek Buttered Toast Directional Meter

The Reason that all Star Trek spaceships meet each other the same way up is because there is a universally decided ‘down’ direction. Every warp capable vessel has a piece of buttered toast suspended in an antimatter containment unit. It is picked up and dropped automatically by little robot arms, within the unit, four times a minute. The orientation of the buttered side tells the onboard computer which way is down, even when light years from any gravitational field. Klingon ships use a slice of K’gacch spread with T’kr’lagg but the effect is the same.

Really? I just assumed they knew to aim the bottom of the ship towards the Koala...

    Neelix talking to Tom Paris:

-My brother used to think he was a talaxian chicken.

Tom: Really? For how long had this been going on?

Neelix: Well, about a couple of decades.

Tom: Ouch! And you never tried anything to cure him of that?

Neelix: Well, we were very poor back then and needed the eggs...
