"Bad Episodes" you think are good?

Spock's Vulcanness makes him living without a brain for a short period of time more plausible than if the brain-nappers had chosen a Human brain. His logical mind also works in their favor, though what factors they used to determine whose brain was best to take we don't know. (Wonder what a computer run by other crew members' brains would have been like?)

They could have kidnapped Spock whole and wired him into the computer, I suppose. Also, apparently the katra goes with the brain, or else Spock would have no personality without his body.

I think it is generally assumed that you think they're bad if they've earned the title of "Bad Episode."

"Little Green Men" and "House of Quark" are terrific episodes. Nothing awful about them at all.

TNG: I really liked Manhunt, I thought it was genuinely funny. I thought The Child and The Loss were okay as well.

I don't remember Manhunt, but I like The Child and The Loss. Like several other episodes on this list, I didn't know people thought it was bad.

I'm sure there are some TOS episodes that are not well regarded by some that I enjoy a lot: Piece of the Action. Omega Glory. And I enjoy watching Spock's Brain (a fun episode with a rather magical premise) more than The Tholian Web (which is regarded as a classic even though McCoy is a freaking loon.)

But the hands down winner of "Episodes that are supposed to be bad but I adore" is TNG's Rascals.

But the hands down winner of "Episodes that are supposed to be bad but I adore" is TNG's Rascals.

"Rascals" is great fun. The casting of the younger version is dead-on, and worth the price of admission alone.

"A Piece of the Action" is considered bad?? So far, everyone I had seen commenting on it loved it. It's my favorite episode, by the way.

I always really liked TNG's "Encounter at Farpoint parts 1 and 2". OK, so there was some bad acting in it (I'm looking at you Marina Sirtis and Wil Wheaton lol) but that wasn't the actors' fault really because the actors didn't really know their characters yet. The episode does a great job at establishing the show and the "awe and wonder" of space travel. TNG didn't really find its groove until season 3 but if "Encounter at Fartpoint" was a complete disaster there never would've been a season 3 at all.
