So many of us are watching or re-watching B5 at the moment, it got me thinking. I just finished "Into the Fire" myself, and at that point I think the series looses its magic (not that there aren't amazing episodes in later S4).

So my take...
Season Three is the best.
Sheridan is the best.
Ivanova is the best. (HATE LOCHELY!)
Season Four was not as good as Three (particularly if you leave out the six Shadow War episodes!)
Season Five was definitely not as good as Four.
The Shadow War ending was good but I wanted more battles.
The Earth War ending was good, though at the time I was pissed it didn't involve Shadow Tech or the Psi Corps as was heavily implied in previous episodes.
Crusade was very promising and it's a shame it's story never got off the ground. I love Galen!
Lost Tales was terrible.

NOTE: Grr! Argh! The second "Favorite Lead" option was obviously supposed to be Sheridan.

Season 3 is best
I'm Pro-Sheridan (but I do like Sinclair)
Ivanova
Season 3 was better than season 4 which was better than season 5
The Shadow War ended the only way it could have...I can see how it'd be disappointing on first viewing, but the more you watch the series you realize it's the only ending the war could have had
The Earth War was great, although I'd have preferred it if circumstances had allowed it to continue into season 5
Crusade was mixed, but probably would've matured into something great
I got Lost Tales confused with Legend of the Rangers so I voted Terrible...Lost Tales is okay, I actually like the Sheridan chapter quite a bit

Here goes, Zatrus was my fav charactor, the last season should not have even been made, Legend of the Rangers was better than Crusade.

Even the bad movies were good.

B5 show what a producer can do if given time and when things are ploted out.

I like all the seasons equally for different reasons. Though if you'd asked about favorite season opening sequence I'd've gone with Season 5. Sheridan and Sinclair equally but Lochley MUCH more than Ivanova. Loved Crusade, would've liked to have seen where the Lost Tales might have gone.

Season 3 was definitely the best season. "Severed Dreams" and "Z'Ha'Dum" hooked me to the show. Seasons 2 & 4 were almost equally as good. Season 2 laid a LOT of the immediate "groundwork" for the subsequent payoffs in Seasons 3 & 4. My least favorite season is season 1 although, like season 5, it got better towards the end.
I definitely liked Sheridan a bit more than Sinclair and Ivanova more than Lochley but Sinclair and Lochley only got a one season each, which didn't allow them to really be fleshed out enough. Maybe I might have a different opinion had we gotten to spend more time with them but I liked how JMS resolved Sinclair's storyline- with quite an unexpected twist to boot.
I thought that ending to the Shadow War was quite unique and refreshing and just goes to show that there's more than one way to win a war.
The ending to the Earth War was somewhat anti-climatic but handled probably as well as it could have been given the uncertainty at that time about whether or not there was going to be another season.
I have yet to watch Crusade or the The Lost Tales, so I'm not going to offer up any opinions thereof at this time.

Yeah, her "speech" before the battle with the Earth-Shadow Hybrid ships is one of the most satisfying moments of the entire series IMHO.

This is pretty much my take, except that I liked both Ivanova and Lochley.

Also, as much I was was let down by Lost Tales, I hoped it would continue in the hope that it would have improved.

Plus, I wanted them to devote a segment to Clark so he could present his point of view, the ONE area where the original series failed completely. I would say that Byron was the failure, but they made up for it by killing him.

The vengeance speech? Ugh. I'll take her work in Rising Star (her finest of the series) over that long-winded crap. That's the kind of speech Galaxy Quest made fun of, and with good reason.

Legend of the Rangers... badly need to view it again, but my initial review thought it was terribly written, especially the portrayal of the Rangers. Won't even go there about the weapon's room...

Season Three is the best. - Agreed, but seasons 2 and 4 aren't far behind, and the second part of season 5 is right up there as well.

Sheridan is the best. - Agreed, but not by that great a distance. I like Sinclair almost as much.

Ivanova is the best. - Ivanova, of course, rules. But I liked Lochley more than most, methinks.

Season Four was not as good as Three - Agreed, but it's a very close-run thing.

Season Five was definitely not as good as Four. - No, but as I mentioned I reckon the second part of the season was up there.

The Shadow War ending was good but I wanted more battles. - the Shadow War ending was great. No more battles - or anything else - were / was required.

The Earth War ending was good, though at the time I was pissed it didn't involve Shadow Tech or the Psi Corps as was heavily implied in previous episodes. - Didn't worry me. I'd pretty much had it with Psi Corps by then and the Shadow tech aspect didn't concern me overmuch.

Crusade was very promising and it's a shame its story never got off the ground. - Agreed. It didn't make much of an impression on me the first time around, but I rewatched it a year or so back and enjoyed it much more.

I love Galen! - Eh, he's okay.

Lost Tales was terrible. - Disagree. There was plenty of potential there.

Legend of the Rangers - is the only B5-related thing I have yet to watch. I'm in no hurry to change that.

Shadow War ending was good, when I first saw it I didn't think twice about it and wasn't disappointed considering how things had developed to this point
The Earth Civil War ending was good, rushed as it was it still paid off. It probably would have been better if they could have devoted a whole season to ending it.
Crusade was a promising continuation
Lost Tales was a mixed bag, the Sheridan part was good but the Lochely part didn't feel like B5 at all IMO

I actually enjoyed Legend of the Rangers. It had lots of funny dialogue, lots of good action, an interesting new (if unoriginal) villain who actually had some threat and menace to them, and G'Kar!

Just finished watching the whole lot. Probably unrealistic but I'd really love them to reboot Crusade. With the same cast, even if they'd be about 10 years older now.
