Awesome Buck Rogers webseries teaser

This is the first I've heard about this project!

Two things I find very interesting, and exciting:

Of course, having Gil and Erin back is just great.

But also this is quite a significant production because here we have a major franchise (maybe not major in a Trek sort of way, but still just as major as Flash Gordon) bypassing theatres and TV and going straight to the Internet. Unlike the Trek fanfilms, this one is licensed, too. Webseries are nothing new, of course, and there have been some franchise-based productions before like the Heroes spinoffs and the like. Plus there have been standalones like Dr. Horrible. But I think this could be the real start of a move away from standard broadcast. Think, for example, if Whedon decided to continue Dollhouse online, or if someone decided to make Sarah Connor Chronicles Season 3 and got the rights to do so online with the original cast.

I'm not utterly blown away by watching shows online -- still too many slowness and buffering issues (the joke Dr. Horrible made during the Emmys is still dead accurate for 99.999% of users) -- but I assume if this is licensed it'll turn up on DVD or Blu-Ray just like Dr. Horrible did.

After that horrible Flash Gordon TV show, this appears to be a breath of fresh air..

The rocket fighter has a kind of Me-163 look to it..

if it follows the original storyline, will we be seeing the Han cities and air cruisers?

well, even if it won't it'll have to be better than Sifi's take on Flash..
