Thor's been seen all over the location shooting. Generally speaking, though, Iron Man is accomplished through CGI, so Robert Downey, Jr., doesn't need to be there for action sequences.
Have actors gotten better at staring into the blank space where a CGI character will go, say over the past decade?
Tony's role in The Incredible Hulk will be expanded upon in the Coulson short (appropriately titled "The Consultant"), to be released with the Thor DVD.Except for the fact that the consultation obviously grew into recruiting agent as we saw a little later on at "The Incredible Hulk".
It's far too early to be speculating on "Avengers 2" villains IMO.
