Speculation is one thing. Making absolute assertions based on incomplete or entirely absent details is just nonsense that deserves to be called out for what it is.

Maybe it's just me, but I've always felt that "but it's just teh internets!" is a pretty limp excuse for a lack of basic critical thinking.
