Astra's ENT action figures in action

These are cute thanks for posting them .Freaky Friday and Archer and Porthos enjoying some down time.

Porthos snuggled on Jon's chest... lovely.

I am quite melting with that one myself! I had not planned it, but when I saw the sofa I thought, wouldn't it be nice if Jon laid down on it... Those are the best.

Porthos is the perfect companion for a dedicated captain who is "married to his ship."
I agree! Every captain should have a dog.

Thank you!

Archer is back in his box for now, but here is one last adventure.

In my "Doctor Who" rewatch I reached "The impossible planet / The Satan Pit" and so I got out my space suit Ten for a crossover with "Star Trek Enterprise".

I hope we will get Jon in his EV suit in this size! That would be amazing.

Swedish Chef is the best chef! :techman:

But another hard no for cat or dog sandwiches. Bad Alf! Bad furry alien thing! Try a veggie burger.

That's clever with Alf and the Swedish chef .But Alf doesn't need a Cat sandwich or a Prthos one either.

Thanks guys! Sorry I was absent but I was busy during the past three days. I am currently enjoying watching Scott Bakula in "NCIS New Orleans" and I wanted a little Dwayne Pride figure. Well, what you can't buy you have to make yourself!

I started with a figure from the Ninja Turtles fandom. He had an open shirt collar and naked arms, that was important!

After cutting away the vest, his shirt looked like this. But in this picture I already have added some piece of shirt on the front, to make it rounder (if you compare with the original)

I added the real shirt collar, button front, chest pocket and rolled up sleeves:

The original backside of the figure:

The shirt under the vest looked plain. It also was longer, I cut it above the belt area to show the bum ;)

I added all the creases and even bum pockets:

I wanted to achieve this:

Sadly the holster is a bit too large and covers the bum too much. Not sure yet whether I will re-do it or keep it as it is:

Many years ago I was given this belt by a friend. It always was too small to fit any figure. Now I cut off the handcuffs and holster. I am glad I did not have to make those from scratch!

I also resculpted the hair, as Jon parts his hair on the other side. And I painted the eyebrows grey and added some wrinkles to make him look older:

To get the exact green color of the pants I had to mix two greens and add a little black as well. The brown at the bottom is for the shoes:

It had been a nightmare to get the head on. Usually you can switch heads easily but Jon's had the neck attached while all other figures have a hole in the head and fit on the plug. I ended up cutting Jon's neck and part of the other neck and then simply glued it.

Since I was not going to repaint his face I needed to mix two colors to match this and paint the neck and also arms and hands.

I "Frankensteined" the hands as well. The original hands had black gloves. I have lots of extra hands from TOS figures but their plug is too thick. At first I wanted to file it off but then I glued them to the original plugs so now they also have a joint for movement:

Not sure why the green paint came out glossy, so I finally had to add an anti-gloss varnish.

As you can see, lots of hard work but the result is very rewarding and if you don't mind, I would love to take pictures with little Pride as well. Perhaps cooking or on the piano.

That's amazing thanks for sharing how you make your action figures. He certainly looks like Dwayne Pride. I like Ncis New Orleans too.

Whoa! That’s some serious dedication! He looks great though!

He does! I am in love with an action figure!

Wow. This is amazing. And it's fascinating to see how you did it.

I always like to share the in between stuff, in case someone wants to follow it. But I'll never do this a second time, once was enough!

It's really a great show! I had not expected that, usually I am not into all these CIS and NCIS shows. But NOLA I love.

Thank you guys! I made some final tweaks yet, positioned the holster a bit higher and made the grey hair a little bit more yellowish (it was a bit too blueish for my liking), now he is absolutely perfect.

And he went on to his first adventure ;) This is a bit silly but this is my thread so I can do with it what I want :nyah:
This is what I imagine filming on location in New Orleans was like. How they got anything done is beyond me.

Okay, two more with Pride for the giggles, then we'll resume our Enterprise posting ;)

First is a continuation of the fangirls story:

And then I did a crossover with "Stranger Things". I know, Hopper is not Navy but I thought it would be fun. I even changed the light between the night and the morning scene!

Also since you like to look behind the scenes - I made the shopping bags from clothes labels. An idea I got in a dollhouse Facebook group. Simple but effective!

This is a fun thread, glad I clicked on it! Some of your little four panel stories were more compelling than some actual episodes of Enterprise! Do you have other ones posted on the other boards or is this the only thread?

Love the Stranger Things crossover! The lighting worked really well!

Thank you! Here is the secret - I did actually not do any lighting. That's something I want to master yet.
All I did was photographing the "night" scenes with the artificial light setting on the camera. You use that when you have the ceiling light on, then it gives it a blueish hue to balance out the yellow. But I did that setting without the real ceiling lights and so it turned blue. Genious, eh? ;)

Welcome to my thread and thank you very much for all the Likes! I am always happy to make other fans happy.
The 4 picture stories come from Twitter, this is the maximum you can put into a tweet (if you don't want to make it a thread).

I do have figures also for TOS and Voyager, but have no specific threads set up in those boards. That's an idea actually, perhaps I should do that!

I also used to post in the general action figure thread, but that is a long one and you would have to wade through lots of stuff (perhaps a search would work?) I also did other fandoms in there like Stargate, Doctor Who, Stranger Things, Wolverine, X-Files, Sherlock... And showed my customization work. But I haven't been there in a while, the guys are mostly talking Star Wars now which is not my thing ;)

Finally, this is my personal Lifejournal, there are all the pictures sorted by fandoms:

https://dieastra.livejournal.com/10228.html

After I posted the Jon and Porthos in the snow pictures I got distracted with the 12" Archer, but there is actually a continuation of the cold / snow pictures. Here it comes!

Jon needed to warm up in sickbay. In my first snow picture I had forgotten to put a scarf on him. Which led to the next story.

I didn't have a bowl for Jon to put his feet into, so I quickly made one. I remembered I once had saved the exact right of wrapping. Never throw anything away!

And then Jon and Porthos warmed up a bit further at the fireplace. This one has a battery inside and gives a real flickering and crackling noise!

I would definitely enjoy mini TOS stories along the lines of these. You don't have to do it just for me, though!
I see you found it! And it also found some new figure lovers.
I hope you're following the thread to not miss any new additions.

Thanks for posting your new Mini Star Trek stories.I really enjoy them alot.

And thank you for always leaving such nice comments! I have more for you.

I am a member in a Facebook group where we get a word each month for inspiration. Many of my pictures would not exist without these prompts. This month the prompt is "Get out!"
What would you have done with it? For me, there was only one logical conclusion:

And I just realized I jumped ahead when I posted the fireworks for New Year's Eve, but there were some pictures I had not yet posted here.

From the episode "Doctor's Orders" when everyone is asleep and Phlox is running the ship by himself:

And surely you have heard the stories how Scott Bakula is so nice, he even helps moving furniture and props on set.

That's really cute and clever all these different Enterprise scenes. It made my day.:adore::bolian::biggrin::luvlove::)
Thank you! But if you're a guy you need to look away now as the next post is only for fangirls ;)

My Jonathan Archer lost his head. Or rather, since it is not possible to get him out of his uniform (despite the working zipper) I got a new body for him and put the head on that.

It was a gamble but it paid off. The skin color fits perfectly and the neck plug is the exact same size as the original.

I'm not sure if I mentioned it but I did grow up in East Germany. So there were no Barbies in my childhood, and I definitely would have not been interested in fashion and dress-up anyway. But this? Being able to dress him up in all kind of clothes I want? I have quite a selection and just got some more.

I am afraid Jon will never get his head back LOL

Usually these bodies have wrist joints but this also comes with arms where the hands are attached which makes it for a more realistic look and I love it. Well worth the money.

He even has a pocket handkerchief!

And he is the kind of man that wears converse to his suit. I did not have white shoes and did not want to use black ones so it was either that or cowboy boots. They were keyrings that I got in Canada.
