Ash vs Evil Dead (new tv series)

Are they going to be full 29-30 minute episodes instead of the usual 22 minutes?

Probably closer to thirty, if other premium cable shows are any indication. As for the length, half-hour adventure shows used to be pretty common back in the 50s and 60s, with the occasional revival, so this length is not unheard of. Interestingly, I think the last half-hour adventure show was Bruce's Jack Of All Trades.

Ash vs Evil Dead has already been picked up for a 2nd season. :bolian:

I love the first sentence of this next article.

Lucy Lawless, the only woman tough enough to be both a warrior princess and Ron Swanson’s wife, is about to enter into a whole new realm of kicking ass — the batshit world of Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell’s Evil Dead franchise.

I just read that about 20 minutes ago. Yay! Is it weird that I'm excited for a second season without having seen the first yet?

i feel like i've been waiting forever. i'll probably watch AOD tomorrow too to get psyched up.

Ha, just rewatched AOD last weekend, and it's actually a lot better and funnier than I remembered.

Although I have to admit, I'm one of those that's always preferred the S-Mart ending to the original, just because it's so much more fun.

I guess the version I watched was the S-Mart one. I didn't know it was an alternative ending. I just looked up the original. S-Mart is way better!

As far as the "original" ending, I think S-Mart is the theatrical ending even if not the one originally conceived by the team. So in one sense the alternative ending is both the original and yet the later ending. I'm pretty sure S-Mart was there when I first saw it.

Tonight's the night! Happy Halloween! :D

I organized my new Photobucket account and the links didn't follow. :scream: :rommie:

Anyway, I just saw the premiere. It was very, very good. It was longer than I expected, but the ensuing episodes will undoubtedly be shorter. It had good measures of creepiness and comedy, and the cast was first rate. I really enjoyed it. :bolian:

The premiere was great. Bruce Campbell is still awesome, and there were a lot of fun and gory moments. I'm definitely excited to see more, both of Ash & friends and of Lucy Lawless's character.
