Arrow - Season 3

I thought the ATOM suit was handled extremely well for a TV budget. And it's cool to see another hero origin.

Hmm... everyone Felicity dates seems to become a superhero. I think she owes it to the world to play the field. A lot. Like, with both men and women. :D

I shouldn't be surprised to see Maseo doing the dirty work himself now, but I am really disappointed in him.

On the other hand, they really brought Deadshot's redemption full-circle here. He even got the featured flashbacks this week, and a heroic death (that we didn't see, so maybe he can still come back).

Although it's weird that this show's Suicide Squad is so tiny, and half of it is Diggle and Lyla. I guess they needed their budget for the ATOM suit. Still, it'd be good to see them expand the Squad a bit. What's Digger Harkness's status right now? Captain Boomerang is usually one of the Squad members.

And I guess Cupid is their surrogate Harley Quinn, since that character's tied up elsewhere. Hold on, though, maybe they killed Lawton off because he's going to be in the SS movie. Oh, I wonder if they'll get rid of Waller too.

Captain Boomerang was/is the other prisoner on Oliver's Island who Oliver told Thea would be of no help in defeating Slade Wilson.

I didn't like the A.T.O.M suit in use, so hope any rumours of a 2nd spinoff is D.O.A but dam that ending

ummm the spinoff is moving forward right now. Its going to be team show with Brandon Routh and other characters from the Flash and Arrow.

So far, they're only developing a pilot for the spinoff. It's not a sure thing yet. Though I'm hopeful it'll work out.

Well Ray is certainly an Iron Man knockoff, shrinking might;ve given him the edge against Ollie though. Te whole hostage plotline seemed to bog down the storyline. And Ollie should've told Ray about the League Of Assassins, for someone as smart as Ray claims to be he makes alot of assumptions without many facts. And really Ollieidn't spend five years on that island.

It seems much less of an Iron Man rip off when you keep in mind that they really wanted Ted Kord but couldn't get the rights so settled for Palmer instead.

the Blue Beetle though was Charlton's answer to Batman though not Iron Man. This is pretty clearly an Iron Man inspired armor.

Remember when Booster Gold's 25th century armour (that looked like spandex) got fracked and he had to build a replacement from 20th century parts, and it looked like a 5th grader cosplaying the Borg?

They're trying too had to make the technology seem recognizable as technology.

This one was OK.
The ATOM vs Arrow stuff was OK. I do agree that it was a little annoying that Ray turned on him so quickly and so hard. I know the Arrow used to kill, but you'd think he would have gotten more of the benefit of the doubt. It was kind of short, but the Team Arrow/ATOM fight was pretty good. I am glad they did have Ollie convince Ray to trust him so by the end of the episode, I was afraid they were going to drag that out for more of the season.
The Suicide Sqaud story was pretty good too, although I would have prefered to get a squad with more than just 2 villains. I enjoyed getting to see flashbacks for Deadshot, but it is a shame they killed him. I was starting to really like the character. Cupid switching her obsession over to Deadshot was funny, but I did feel kind of bad for her when they killed him off. I wonder if she'll go after Diggle now after this.
I did like seeing Diggle and Lyla getting married. I wonder if her quitting ARGUS at the end means she'll be helping out Team Arrow more, I wouldn't be against that.

The Jamie Reyes Blue Beetle had armor.

Technorganic malfunctioning parasitic space armour designed 100s of thousands of years ago to dominate their host and then take over the universe who had been at war with the Green Lantern Corps for most of that time.

They had Jamie on Smallville in full armour.

It sucked.

But as Felicity reminded us, Ray is motivated by his grief over the death of his wife in the Mirakuru attacks last year. He's driven to fight crime and prevent anything like that from happening again -- sort of a non-evil equivalent of Malcolm Merlyn. So he has personal reasons for being overly gung-ho about it and rushing in without thinking.

I wasn't talking about the armour design (which is indeed obviously partly inspired by Iron Man) so much as the character set-up. That is to say genius billionaire using technology and detective skills to fight crime...which sounds just as much like a Batman rip-off since that's more or less what the Ted Kord Blue Beetle became.

In makes a lot more sense in this context if you know that Palmer is supposed to be Kord.

If Ray had any detective skills and actually fought crime I could see it possibly.

It just occurred to me, due to the Deadshot flashbacks, we're going on two weeks to discover the mystery behind Shado's appearance...and I completely forgot about it. I have a feeling everyone did...

How frustrating it must have been for Routh to get a cold the week they shoot his first episode as ATOM in action.

That said, yeah, right now, the ATOM is an Iron Man rip-off. Hope they'll give him shrinking powers sooner than later.

Also, thought I'd share this, one of the guys at EyesSkyward.com had the idea to insert some humor into the show.

So that's what was going on with his voice?

When Laurel told Ollie she had a new female trainer I laughed at the missed opportunity to really play with his psyche at the wedding. :p

Have Felicity show up with Ray Palmer as her "plus 1" and have Laurel show up with Nyssa as her "plus 1".

I REALLY loved it when John threatened to kill Ray and hide his body if her ever hurt Felicity. :klingon:

The dude SHOULD have used that line on Ollie a few months ago when he decided to break off their relationship. :vulcan:

His voice, his eyes, seemed like a cold to me. Might not have been a cold, that's only my guess, but he obviously had something going on.
