Arise, SIR PATRICK STEWART!

I'm very happy for Patrick, but people must realise one thing. The man is millionaire Champagne socialist who lives the life of Reilly while financially funding a Government and political party that, through "redistribution of wealth", wants to put everyone in the UK in to poverty.

He's a great actor and very pleasant guy, but politically I have no time for him. If he was true to his convictions, he wouldn't even be accepting his Knighthood.

Hmm . . . someone woke up on the wrong side of the cave!

Speaking of which, Plums, shouldn't you take your rants against the Labour Party, and your complaints about Patrick Stewart's knighthood into TNZ? Man, that would make for a fabulous thread. Then you'd see all the fighting you yearn for there come to pass!

Just saying, mate!

RR

No they haven't. Having worked within both administrations let me assure you that socialist dogma runs through all Labour policy planning.

I left in Aug 2009.

Now what's your point? Or is sarcasm all you've got?

If you're going to make claims, at least get your terminology right...

American Presidents have administrations.

British Prime Ministers have Ministries when referring to their time in office.

A ministry is a department of state. :guffaw:

And also the blanket term given to the period a prime minister is in office... ie http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thatcher_Ministry

didn't you say you used to be one of her majesty's civil servants? oh dear...

Guffaw

Never heard of that. There you go.

Not that trusting Wiki to be right ever proved ought though.

This thread is really too far-gone at this point to ever recover. That means it's time for this guy to do his job:

Before we go, ThePlumsOfWrath has an infraction for posting off-topic content, which then proceeded to derail this entire thread. He could have said his peace about why he disagrees with Patrick Stewart's knighthood without posting a lengthy diatribe about the state of British politics today. He also could have said his peace and left instead of continuing to push the topic further off-course. But the rest of you could have isolated his rant by not replying to it!

The moment has pretty much passed now, but if anyone wants to start a NON-POLITICAL thread about Patrick Stewart's knighthood, I'll allow it. Anyone wanting to drag politics into it is invited to open a thread in The Neutral Zone.
