Are you into dirt track racing?

I use to go to a local track called Lawton Speedway alot when I was a kid with my grandpa. It's one of the things I most miss doing as a kid. I recently went to another race and realized how much I miss it. I looked up the track and found highlights of the races on youtube and other dirt track racing and it;s alot of fun to watch.

Come on! I can't be the only person, intrested in this kind of racing! I understand if you don't like NASCAR or type of racing. Those things can last forever, but dirt track racing is more intense since the races are shorter. You would like them,especially if you went to one in person.

Sort of. It's a term used to describe racing on dirt tracks, as oposed to the type of tracks you might see in nASCAR or road races.

The light in that video is really quite beautiful, especially at a quarter way in, when the bright, white track lights battle it out with the setting sun.

Not very much into racing of any kind, I'm afraid, but what's preventing you from going to a dirt track race again?

Well the cars are different as well. Even though I do think some hobby stock or sometimes they are called street stock can be raced on both types of tracks. The biggest difference though and what I like about dirt tracks is how the cars sort,of glide around the corners.

Well races are usually only on Saturday nights and while I could go and watch some of the races, I would always have to leave early before all the main event races towards the end. Most races will last till midnight and I got to be at work around 11:00 p.m I have thought about asking my sister to go get my newspapers for me but that is the night we get the Sunday papers. Sunday papers are always huge so that is alot of papers to pick up. I get 42 bundles usually since they make them 10 papers, per bundles.

Sounds like it would still be worthwhile to do it once in a while. I get the impression that you don't go out a lot--probably because of your night shift--and that's a shame. Everyone deserves to treat themselves to something like this every once in a while.

tony stewart owns the eldora dirt track and once a year they feature a charity dirt track event where not only dirt track drivers but also some of the nascar drivers come over to race.
i have seen several of them but i just saw where we missed this one because i forget when the race had been rescheduled after being rained out earlier.

some of us are also talking about going to a race up to the clarksville speedway .
but i dont think it is something i would watch on a real regular basis.

Well Iam able to go to movies,strip clubs, parks etc during the day but I lterally work everyday of the week. You don't get days off, unless you can find someone to do your route for you. If I ever get sick then I have to work when I am sick. There have nights when I had dry heeves and then there is the night were I vomited, everywhere. I vomited in a guys yard, I vomited in a military bathroom and still missed the toliet and finished this great night off with vomiting on myself and my steering wheel. That wasn't even the worst night. The time I got hit by the drunk driver, I went to the hopsital to get checked out. Left there and went straight to work in the truck I got hit in, and hat a huge dent on the side.
Granted I only work 3 to 4 hours a day but it's the worst 3 or 4 hours a day if you want to ever do something at night. If I ever have sex it will have to be during the day.

I saw some of the races up there from Eldora on Youtube. Ya got a pretty nice track. that's one nice thing about dirt track's. Every track is different. Some are good and some are bad. Lawton Speedway is actually smaller than some, but I kind of like that because most of the action usually happens on the turns in dirt track racing. The worst track I saw on Youtube was this track they have in Canada. I didn't even know Canadian's would be into this kind of racing but it seems, some are. There track though was awful. It was basically a big dirt circle out in some field somewhere.
