Are you "aging out" of Star Trek?

Tastes change as you get older and watch more stuff. Most TV shows target 18-49 years olds. It's the sweet spot. There are networks that go younger, and there are ones that go older. However, networks that do go older are more likely to target older women via the Hallmark channel than they're to target older men. CBS tends to go older in general with shows like NCIS.

The other alternative is to read. I find I read more the older I get. It's like a return to my youth. I read a ton as teenager, and now I read a ton as an older adult.

I’m less bothered about the new stuff (DSC S05, SNW S03, LDS S05 and the back half of PRO remain unwatched) but I love to revisit TOS/the Berman stuff.

Shame it’s leaving Netflix in a few short weeks, but that fact has made me consider buying Blu-Rays/DVDs for the first time in over a decade.

Now, remind me: which Star Trek show did Taylor Sheridan do?

;)
He did guest star on Enterprise.

I turned 46 a few weeks ago. I realize that not everything out there is for me but I give it all a fair shake. I’ve yet to not find some level of entertainment in a Trek series, even if some enjoyment might be less than others.

I have watched all the series so far. I enjoy the ones that are closest to the original series. Strange new worlds seems closest of them all.

Landman is great mostly because of Billy Bob Thornton.

There's nothing in current Trek that isn't being done better by numerous other shows and creators. Trek only holds on because people are invested in the brand, not because it's creatively exciting.
I'd agree with this. For the best of science fiction today, I go to AppleTV. For horror/thrillers, AMC+ and MGM+.

The biggest risk is that Trek turns into Doctor Who, which has recently felt a whole lot like PSAs or after school specials, rather than telling compelling stories with interesting characters.

I dropped out of Star Trek a few times over the years, and at this point, I don't think I'll ever fully walk away but I'm also not nearly so invested as I used to be. I tried to give both DSC and PIC a shot, and bailed on both during their first seasons. I haven't watched any of the other new series at all. It was starting to feel like a chore.
