One of my teachers said he knew the members of Human League when he was at uni. Mind you, he also said his mate had a flat share with Eddie Izzard and he couldn't stand him.
The former Rock band Def Leppard is the only thing I know about Sheffield.
Not "former". They still tour and make a very occasional album.
I know, I just saw them recently. I meant "Former Rock" band. My favorite version of the band was with guitarists Steve Clark and Pete Willis, back when they were a rock band and not the pop artists they are today.
Trinity Wells? (Welles?) The newsreader in the RTD years.Forgive me for forgetting 50 years of "Doctor Who" but a nice portrayal of an American would be a good change. I can't remember the last time we had a decent representation of the United States.

Something about this season in the way it's presenting itself seems below what we've seen the last couple of years.
I know the cameras and filming are much more crisp but do they have a relatively inexperienced crew now?
Probably "The Return of Doctor Mysterio" (2016 Xmas special), then "A Town Called Mercy", then probably the one with the Daleks in Manhatten. It's possible you have to back to the 1996 McGann film after that, then perhaps Peri in the eighties.
The Nanny spent 6 years trying to get a good grip on some Sheffield steel.
He identifies himself as American, yes, though I'm sure the Boeshane Peninsula's location on another planet counts as outside America. Is not Captain Jack technically American?

Only if they've staked a claim to off-world colonies like Boeshane in the 51st Century.
Jack's probably not even pure human, given his comments on the propensity of interspecies sex in his time period.

Colony ships, nationalist avatars, left in the 27th century. EG Starship UK.
Starhip US probably existed, unless each state was "rich" enough for their own star ship.
40th century, Earth is recovered from the solar storms.
The last human being, who is a lying racist, from the year 5 billion, said that her father was a Texan.
The original was. The Doctor's companion assumed the identity. Is not Captain Jack technically American?
You can have sex without producing a child. It would be more likely interspecies sex wouldn’t produce a child. He’s more likely totally human. That’s, of course, if Doctor Who is scientifically accurate in this case.
