I watched about half of the episode, lost interest and moved on to something else. I'll go back and finish it but so far these early episodes are just incredibly dull.

Not bad. Nice to get to know Yaz a bit more. I appreciated how they didn't focus on Graham's wife, only kind of showed her silhouette. Reinforced the notion of loss. That said, there wasn't much tension in this episode.

Really enjoyed this one. It was more fun than last week's, which was certainly decent enough.

Love Jodie so much, and I'm finding all of the companions are clicking now. I love all their reasons for deciding to stick around for more adventures, particularly Graham.

I loved Chris Noth's not so subtle nod to Trump.

If only there were something common and famous about Sheffield. Something that people would recognize, something that would bring everyone together, so everyone would hear of Sheffield and feel United.

Some day, maybe.
The only thing that comes to mind when I think of Sheffield are... knives. My Grandmother left me a whole set of flatware and cutlery, in a nice box. (Oh, thanks Nanny).

I'm going to skip this one. I want to see it, but spiders? Nope. Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope.
That's wise. Mrs cultcross hates spiders and she did not enjoy this week. Literal sofa hiding for possibly the first time since that meme was invented!

The former Rock band Def Leppard is the only thing I know about Sheffield.

My favourite bookshop (pre online stuff) was in Sheffield. Pretty much nothing except science fiction and fantasy (and especially stuff that I couldn't spot at any of the more local bookstores). I used to go about once a quarter and spend loads there:)

I like the documentary Made in Sheffield, about the new wave/electronic/postpunk scene there. Human League, ABC, Heaven 17: etc. If Human League makes you think “Don’t You Want Me,” well, the two albums before that were much more electronic and experimental. They even had an instrumental in a Radiophonic style called “Tom Baker.”

Haha I grew up listening to bands like that. I love Heaven 17

The Full Monty, and When Saturday Comes are Sheffield too. The Last Train too had a Sheffield connection, though that was set in a parallel universe where the Great Central Railway was still open.

Early Human League is best Human League - back when the two guys who went on to form Heaven 17 were in the band. "Being Boiled" has always been my favourite song of theirs.
