Spiders eat their young.

They seem to be able to produce enough little spiders to feed the big spiders until the biggies get too big to breathe, and the little spiders eat the big corpses.

That's an ecosystem.

The spider-race could thrive in that panic room for millions of years.
They do, but like all forms of cannibalism, it is unsustainable as a sole, long term source.

And generally, it's the young that eat their siblings until only the strongest of a clutch survive. I'm sure that things change in desperate times, but feeding and mating still require energy and there will be diminishing returns with. Otherwise, it's basically the same concept as perpetual motion.

The Xenomorphs from Aliens, sacrifice their bodies for construction materials because they are good little drones slaved to the hive mind.

Since the xenos don't seem to eat what they kill they must eat other stuff or absorb energy, I have always wondered are they made of nanomachines?

I would have liked to have seen a call back to Planet of the SPiders or The Green Death.
Was it just me or the end of the episode when "not Trump" left the episode they tried to make it look like "he'll be back" and there was ominous music? or was that just my imagination?
I got that vibe to. After all they've got an Oval Office set. Another interesting call back would have been to The Christmas Invasion with the Dr. asking Noth if he'd heard of a former British PM named Harriet Jones and then saying, before me she was on course to be a three-term PM as a prelude to scuppering his election chances.

Thank you I swear I wasn't imagining that and now don't feel so alone with this feeling.

I think they are really trying to have a clean slate, a good place for a hop on for new audience members. Call backs that obscure wouldn't really make any sense to a new person.

Harriet Jones is from what... 10 years ago?

Last appearance was in "The Stolen Earth" in 2008, so yeah, ten years.

Gods, where has the time gone?
Indeed. Doctor 12 referenced her in the episode with David Suchet and the old house last series when he mentions a number of past PMs to establish whether he's out of touch.
