LEGO Star Trek would be so, so COOL! I'd love it if they did stuff from the older movies/TV series as well

But don't orient them to kids. Market to adults and just make it child friendly.

Oh, and get some amateur builders to design the stuff, fan made legos are SO much better than stock kits.

If they make LEGO sets there is no way they won't be marketed to kids.
They're playsets, not models.

We just so happen to take them and use them to build these kickass models.

Mega-Blocks made a Set of the Enterprise-D back in 2004.

It's pretty cool, I've got 4 sets.

I would sooo love for LEGO to make a few Trek Sets, I've got all their SW's sets except for the new Clone War's Tank and the super expensive 2nd version of the Death Star.

Both of which I'll have by next year sometime.

Cute, but the figure was presented as a "horrified Trek fan". You know... The type that wears their Starfleet uniform to the movie, only to find out nobody else has? (I don't own one, no, but I have seen it happen. Poor creatures... )

I remember when Toys R Us had a whole aisle full of Trek figures.

I read that their liscense for Star Wars will expire in 2012 so maybe they will do Trek stuff then.

No kidding! What with Christmas approaching fast, I was shopping at various toy and book stores yesterday and couldn't believe how many various Star Wars toys and books there are on the shelves. There were no Star Trek toys or video games and far fewer novels. While I don't hate SW, it's never intertested me as Trek has. The latter has always hit me as aimed at a more adult audience. Anyway, you have to marvel at the marketing savvy displayed by Lucas & Co. Trek has had far more screen time yet SW has rarely skipped a beat in sales of related items. Paramount could learn a lot here. They would be foolish not to market the next film at kids as well as teens and adults. An animated series would do a lot to pick up the pace, one along the lines of Batman or Superman TAS. Legos toys and video games? A must!

You guys ought to check with Unicron. He's done quite a bit of stuff (kits and his own designs) with LEGO and has shown some pics of nifty work by others, as well, including the traveling LEGO Ocean Adventure exhibit.
