Anyone still build models?

I recently bought a couple 1/650 TOS Enterprise kits at Hobby Lobby when they went on sale. The mold has seriously degraded over time, to the point that I ended up throwing them away when I couldn't get them to fit properly. The saucer seems to be okay, but the secondary hull, nacelles and pylons were bent and warped.
I collect old pill bottles...fill those, coat with glue... maybe attack the parts with a heat gun and fasten around those bodged inner supports.

One project for those with money might be to 3D print interior bracing for the AMT 1/650. That can straighten out parts, which are smooth at least.

Now even embedded prints are looked at

Good news against license holders who overcharge:

Folks have tried to attack 3D printing --and now being a step towards self-replicating machines, fans can build their own toys--not just models.

No law in the arena

This clock looks like it has many LEDs, but doesn't. This might be of use as a lighting option:

Not Star Trek, but I'm currently building one of those "book nook" kits. Initially I was really worried about all the small pieces and the stuff I had to glue (the amazon listing didn't say anything about glue), but I'm doing pretty good so far!
Those things are cool - but they take up space where books should be. ;)

I saw this just today

Not as many kits as I used to, unemployment has sucked away any and all hobby time and the joy in them, but when working up digital vers, I build practical ones as well. This one has an addition for a later mod sitting in with it. ;-)

Cool, although I disagree with changing it to be more SNW-ish. I guess it's been a couple of decades since the Thomas Models (PNT Models) conversion kit was available for the PL kit:

David Merriman--for those who don't know him (he once called folks "kit assemblers" who don't fabricate from scratch, IIRC)-is an excellent model maker in every sense of the word.

Submarines are his specialty, but he has done Trek models, such as this TOS era craft:

Cylon Raider?
