Is DSC the cannonical abbreviation? Damn, i was trying to start DIS
I think the word you're looking for is 'official'
CBS calls it DSC. But they also call Voyager 'VGR' and hardly anyone calls it that.

I agree, Chris Obi seems really enthusiastic to be part of Star Trek, and really seems to have done his homework about Klingons and their culture. At any other time, he could have really delivered a memorable and awesome Klingon performance. Unfortunately, they've more or less sabotaged him with the extensive prosthetics and teeth, not to mention a costume which looks very restrictive too. Combine that with the fact that the character doesn't really have interactions with anyone, he just delivers monologues. Even the "conversations" he has with other characters are more or less just monologues directed at them. And on top of it all, 90% of his lines are in a fictional language. There isn't really much any actor could do under these circumstances.I feel sorry for the guy playing T'kuvma. He's giving his damndest to perform under that make up, and then he's got the Greek salad to try and perform on top of that. It wouldn't be as bad if the teeth prosthetic weren't so dramatic.
Yup. I was thinking to rewatch the pilot last night but I didn't want to sit through those scenes again.Enough with the Klingon already. What a colossal pain the posterior it was having to listen to those Klingon scenes.
I found myself channeling McCoy when Chang was busy brutalising Shakespeare; "I'd give real money if he'd shut up."Enough with the Klingon already. What a colossal pain the posterior it was having to listen to those Klingon scenes.
Memory-Alpha.org uses DIS, if that makes you feel better. Is DSC the cannonical abbreviation? Damn, i was trying to start DIS
My problem wasn't that they spoke Klingon. It's that it sounded like they had a hard time doing so and there was no clarity to the Klingon they did speak. I would imagine that it would be hard for them to understand each other in the fictional universe. TOS and TNG+ Klingons would probably be like "neH Dajatlh, jat ghe''or chay'?"Slow. Guttural. Grunting. Thick. Mouthful. These are words to describe the sound of DSC's Klingons. They are portrayed as an truly alien race. Making them speak English would take away from that, so I believe they should continue with the Klingon. Think about our own planet. There is such great diversity in language. Why in the world would we want to water down the Klingons by making them sound like English speaking pirates again?
Personally, there's an alternate shorthand I prefer. Then if (when) the titular ship suffers a big fire, it's a Disco inferno. Is DSC the cannonical abbreviation? Damn, i was trying to start DIS
Kind of like how an American from Mobile may have a hard time understanding someone from Newcastle and vice versa? My problem wasn't that they spoke Klingon.
