Anyone Here Excited For the Fantastic Four Movie?

The real question is, has anyone here exited the Fantastic Four movie? Did anyone buy a ticket and then walk out of the theater partway through the film?

It's short enough that you needn't bother.

The 'team' is a team (with powers) for maybe 10 minutes. Might not even be that.

Even though bad, I sense something of a pile-on or "dogpile" effect. You know, once a few people jump on it, everyone follows just for the spectacle and fun of it.

Big hate or big love does seem to have a cumulative effect in popular culture. I wonder if we'll see the reps of the previous movies go up in comparison?

Proably, but in this case, pretty much everyone agrees that the movie is 'ahem' 'deeply flawed'.

Sounds like it's about time for someone to start a "Cast the NEXT reboot of Fantastic Four" thread.

Since they'll lose the rights, they have to do it soon. So Megan & Jesse Rath (Being Human & Defiance) would be great choices for Sue & Johnny. The racism would be quickly overwhelmed by the fact that they can realisitically portray sibling relationships.

I saw a bit of the Silver Surfer the other day...it wasn't the best comic movie, but seemed to work OK. Even though I think Jessica ALba was miscast, I think part of it was that they didn't define her as clearly as the others. Chris Evans, on the other hand, was perfectly cast.

Fox should have checked Trank into rehab first before giving him the director's chair.

I almost feel bad for him. The movie is tanking bad and its really going to mess up his career for a while. He can blame the studio but ultimately he made changes to the story that fans disliked. Trank also distancing himself from the movie and blaming the studio will ruin his chances of getting other properties to direct. No one will want to hire him for fear that he will blame any failure on the studio. He should have owned the failure. The movie cost 120,000,000 and its not even going to make 30,000,000 this week. The movie will probably get to 45,000,0000 next week. Oversees box office will help but studios still don't get as much profit percentage from the overseas receipts as they do nationally. Yeah this film is a total failure.

Is the movie tanking or Tranking? :guffaw:

That might catch on and be new word.

The previews for the movie looked so bad, he knew the movie was going to trank.

Evans was a good casting choice. Alba... she just can't act! I'm sorry to her fans, but I recently saw Dark Angel, and her stilted, wooden acting was difficult to watch.

That's actually pretty good. Someone with a twitter account should post that on Tranks page. They would become a famous twitterer if it caught on.

I thought of Trank/tank prior to opening day, or maybe the instant he posted his infamous tweet, as probably did the missing millions of ticket non-holders. I didn't use it here or anywhere else because I felt it to be so blatantly obvious and groan-inducing that it would be an embarrassment to use something so uncreatively schoolyard, and retroactively trite. But, what the hell, go for it.

Nah I don't twitter or even facebook. It is obvious but funny. As Homer Simpson once said, "A football in the groin is a football in the groin". Juvenile? Trite? Groan Inducing? Yes. But its still damn funny.

Apparently she's a smart business woman in real life. And she's obviously gorgeous. But you are correct. She can't act to save her life.

I'm suddenly worried that when I finally rewatch Dark Angel, that it's not going to be as good as I remember.

It's going to be weird enough accepting the sperm version of DeNozo the Luddite from NCIS as a futuristic hacker freedom fighter.
