Considering the Picard and Lower Decks series - they already haven't 'stayed away' from Berman era Trek. It's all the one Trek thread, from 1965 (ie TOS pilot The Cage) to now (2025).
I do understand they have referenced it..which is why I mentioned TNG's The Chase.
