Anyone else annoyed that there are no TOS Klingons in SNW yet?

Considering the Picard and Lower Decks series - they already haven't 'stayed away' from Berman era Trek. It's all the one Trek thread, from 1965 (ie TOS pilot The Cage) to now (2025).

I do understand they have referenced it..which is why I mentioned TNG's The Chase.

So... ruminating about TOS Klingons in SNW - I somehow remember something about there being augment Klingons showing up at the beginning of S2. I dug up this BTS photo from S2E1 ("Broken Circle") of a couple of extras, and I recall the one being considered a TOS smooth-headed Klingon:

I think it was mentioned somewhere in TrekMovie.com but I can't seem to find the original article with all the other BTS photos.

I remember sharing that photo at the time and musing if the guy on the right was an Augment Klingon. He's on the planet at the start of Season 2, but we never knew for sure if he was an Augment Klingon or another humanoid.

While the implication is that Trelane is Q's son, I don't think he's the same son we saw on Voyager.
The creators have said he isn't Q Jr. from Voyager, and also implied he could be Q himself but younger.

I was trying to think of a plausible explanation why TOS solely has augment virus Klingons in the Klingon military. I'm assuming L'Rell isn't chancellor by TOS anymore (but who knows) but we can at least say that TOS Klingon Empire is again a conquering empire of expansionism and conquest etc.

Perhaps the Klingons had augment virus soldiers as their frontline as a psychological tactic where naive alien species would mistake the Klingons for humans and, having heard good things about humans in the Federation, would subconsciously be more welcoming or less threatening etc.

Clearly the solution is that the augument virus mutation wore off after a few generations, resulting in "typical" looking Klingons. Now that the Klingons of the earlier era have largely died off, the headstrong youth do not remember the mistakes of the past, so we'll get a Season 5 SNW episode that's just a repeat of the events of the augment virus. They'll lose their ridges again in a few years, but by the time TMP rolls around, they'll have figured out a cure.
