Another 1 hour series finale!!

Kpnuts

When will those morons in charge EVER learn!!!

40 minutes to end the series, once again Wright/Mallozzi prove to be geniuses.

Yes I know there's another movie coming off the MGM factory line, but it's not the same.

I'm sure this is a Sci Fi decision, not a Wright/Mallozzi desicion.

Well, considering they just finished filming the finale by the time the news came out, they didn't really have a choice.

Unless Scifi or someone else decides to commission a proper finale...

I stand corrected. There is one thing that makes me happy about SG:A's ending.

And, just for the sake of specificity here, the show's not canceled in the Firefly or Farscape sense, it's ending and being replaced with another SG program.

I'd much rather have an hour that they'll actually remember exists with the DVD movies than them do something like completely forget "Dominion" ever happened.

Do you mean "Unending" ? "Dominion" was heavily referenced in The Ark of Truth.

Ah, but it was completely forgotten in Continuum.

You mean Ba'al putting "himself" in Adria ? That's just misdirection on Ba'al's part.

They're airing the first movie on TV, so the finale will really be a two-hour (90 minute) affair.

How else did the Ba'al symbiote get into Adria?

Basically, what I'm saying is the "original" Ba'al symbiote has died twice. Once in "Dominion" and once in Continuum. That bothered me only a whole lot.

That seems easy enough to ret-con away, though. Just say that the one in Dominion really wasn't the last Ba'al symbiote, but the one in Continuum was.

Much easier to make heads or tails of compared to, say, Continuum's illogical time travel mechanics.

It's getting a fucking movie, so what the fuck is your problem exactly?

Mallozzi has already stated that the Atlantis movie will be a completely standalone adventure and not be used to tie up any loose ends from the series.

SG movies have been awful so far anyway, I'd rather have a proper two hour finale then another *shudder* Unending.

He hasn't said it will be standalone from what I've read (although I rarely read through all the boring crap at his blog to get to the parts about Stargate), just that it won't be used to follow-up from the finale's cliffhanger because the finale doesn't have a cliffhanger.

The Ba'al that was put into Adria was one of the clones. He didn't kill all of them, obviously, because there were still two Ba'als when Adria was implanted, one in a host and the one that actually took her. Either the original Ba'al didn't want to risk himself, or one of the clones got too big for his britches and decided to change hosts on his own.

I don't remember the episode (Off the Grid maybe?) and would have to rewatch both of them, but wasn't a bunch of the Ba'als on Earth and the Ba'als from Dominion killed by the anti-Goa'uld gas? If that's the case, then there's no reason that the Ba'al from Dominion or the one from Continuum that put the plan in motion had to be the originals. If I'm remembering everything correctly, then either one could have easily been Ba'al.

Which also highlights what an incredibly stupid idea the whole Ba'al clone idea was to begin with. :klingon: :klingon: :klingon:

What Ba'al said was the original symbiote has died twice. Doesn't mean the actual Ba'al died twice, or even once.

Besides, which is the "real" Ba'al ? The Goa'uld have genetic memory, everything Ba'al knows is passed on to the clones.

If we're willing to accept Clone Beckett because he has the same memories as the original then we should accept that they're all the real Ba'al.

FFS the writers do not set the budget, MGM & SCI FI do, if your annoyed at the 1 hour finale then take it up with them. Just like with SG-1 the finales were not written to be SERIES FINALE's but season finale's.

You going to blame Global Warming on the writers next ?
