Andy Dick Ruins Message in a Bottle

I know that when this episode aired Andy Dick was supposedly popular but now (after recent events) I can barely stand and tolerate this episode. This used to be one of my favorites and now I can barely stomach it (especially the scenes with Mark two).

Thank god the Mark two never got on and was replaced only a season later!

^ The fight at the Comedy Club and what was revealed regarding Phil Hartman (which I hadn't been informed of).

I'm indifferent to Andy. Sometimes he's funny, sometimes not. I don't know any of the gossip surrounding him as of late, nor do I really care. He doesn't bother me as the EMH Mark 2. This is still one of my favorite episodes.

I remember watching some clip on E where hes hanging off some other celeb acting like a mooch then tried to get in the guys limo and they kicked him out, is was really pathetic looking.

Actually I didn't like him back when this episode came out and I felt he was really a poor choice for EMH Mk II. I know why the suits went with him, but at the same time I really think it was a mistake on their part.

He doesn't ruin it for me, but I wish it would have been someone else... like Dr. Crusher! Anyone really...

Hmmm, this may explain why my avatar of him in a Gen SciFi contest did so poorly.

Lisa Lampanelli was dissin' him on her show on CC over the weekend. I know it's a repeat, but she's hi-larry-ous !

I just think he's pathetic, and I think they tried to write in Andy's style of humor into the episode and failed.

I haven't heard any of this. What are the details? What fight? And what about Phil (who I thought was great)?

Yeah, Dick doesn't excite me either.

In fact I really can't stand him since I finally found out who he was during the Shatner roast. I was wondering why he was even there since I didn't remember him in Voyager. I'll never gain that innocence back...

It was discussed here. One of the pages has a link to where Jon describes the whole thing. After reading the news account, maybe skip to that interview as it has more info.

It has an Akira-class starship on center stage in the final battle, which trumps all guest star issues. They could've had OJ Simpson play the EMH Deuce and I wouldn't have minded...much.

Thanks. I'd seen that thread title but I thought it was about that claymation show where they have celebrities boxing each other, and I never went into it.

He was great in this ep, which is all I really care about. The comedy club thing was later and definitely takes him off my Top Ten All-Time People list for good - not that he ever had a spot.

Andy Dick rules - you just don't know what's funny.

Remember his Survivor-type reality show where he evicted a person like 2 minutes after they started in the first episode? Hahahaha....genius! :guffaw:
