Andy Dick Ruins Message in a Bottle

What's sad is a great actor like John Ryes Davis has been very ill and nobody says a word, yet a smuck like Andy Dick gets all out attention.

yeah he does as he is a bit too much, if they had toned him down it might have been a really good episode. a shame

^^Which is ironic.

Before anybody heard about Andy's possable involvement in Hartman's death, many used to find this ep. funny and Andy Dick a welcome addition too Treks list of guess stars.

What a difference a day makes, huh?

And a big giant dick he is... :)

Sorry i just had to throw that in there. I never liked him as an actor. He's annoying and arrogant, and forces himself upon hollywood. A child could out act him or even an amateur high school drama student. (rather prefer that replacement)

only my two cents...

Non-canoncially do we ever find out who the model for the MK-II was and what kind of person he might have been and the reasons that Zimmerman had for choosing him to be the one they went with?

Sorry to digress slightly but seeing as it's about Andy Dick and his portrayal as the EMH MK-II.

I may be one of the few that thought Andy Dick was a terrific choice for the Mark II. How better to capture the flavor of a computer-generated artificial construct with only limited interpersonal skills and lacking the emotional maturity to deal with his present situation? Contrasted to the Mark I, who’s been online for years by this time and possesses the self-assurance to not only contemplate fighting the Romulans for control of the ship, but to carry that plan to fruition.

Now, I’m not saying the Mark II wasn’t annoying as hell, it most definitely was… but I understood the rationale behind that fact.

Still one of my favorite Voyager episodes.

Andy Dick ruins most things from what I've seen of his roast performances, but makes the perfect butt-- i.e. target--for jokes.

As an actor, he isn't spectacular. And as a one-off gag, he wasn't offensive in "Message in a Bottle."

While I think Andy Dick is largely a talentless turd, he did the best his limited abilities could allow in the role given him.
