And the Next Cancelled Show is...

The Good Wife has not had anything close to good ratings when it comes to the demo (total viewers are good) since it's early days but I assume it does something Boston Legal did for ABC and appeal to high income viewers or something CBS other shows don't do and of course the critical reception helps + CBS owned show right?

For CBS owned shows which have a minimum of 88+ episodes and already have off-network syndication deals, ratings don't appear to matter as much.

As to when such shows will be canceled, I strongly suspect will be dependent on the non-public details of the syndication deals and the costs of creating new episodes/seasons.

It's weird seeing Chris Missenia on both the Newsroom and the Mindy Project as... Although it's a billing times more jarring seeing Kat Dennings on the Newsroom and 2 Broke Girls.

:)

They actually had two actors form The Office on The News Room last week.

Are there more in store?

^I'd put The Good Wife as Likely to be Renewed - the showrunners have always planned for 7 seasons, and the ratings and critical acclaim justify a final season.

CBS doesn't care about the younger end of the ratings as much as other networks. They really don't seem to mind being the network for older people.

No back order for 9 more episodes of Constantine by NBC, so that means its probably cancelled.

:(I'm started to get into Constantine even though I'm not a fan of the actress who play's Zed.
Also I really hope sleepy hollow makes it to series 3.

I luuuuuuve her, but the game is about getting as many former Office (or any one old sitcom) actors on at the same time.

Can you imagine if Half the cast of thirty rock showed up on the set of something else today, wondering if they are being punk'd or manipulated by a stalker fetishist?

Poor Kelen is trapped on he McCarthy's until it's cancelled in a week or three.

I do wonder about the future of Bones after hearing that "Emily Deschanel" is pregnant (congrats) because the ratings are bad but FOX are just running the Syndication/Profit clock and squeezing what they can out of it and rumors were an 11th season was on the cards. Last time Emily was with child they were more than happy to move things around for her because the show was in its peak but now I wonder will they decide to just cut their losses so to speak.

I would bet on a shorter final 11th season that may not start till midseason in 2016 but you never know with these Network executives.

PS - I fully support her right to work n be with child, it was just a question because lets face it "People who run TV are assholes generally" ;)

Well, it's a nice show and they've had a great run. It would be better to end it on a high note and on their terms rather than to let the result of so many years of work get axed because they dragged it out too long.

I think the time to end with the head held high was about 2 years ago. I stopped watching during season 8 when it looked like the thing was never going to end and I just grew tired. A pity because I've watched every episode since the pilot and I hardly ever give up on shows once I start them.

I think without a doubt Bones will get some type of 11th season. Emily Deschanel seemed to really want to do an 11th season in an interview she might have given after finding out. And 13 final episodes would be great, but I can even see Fox wanting a 12th season, the ratings really aren't that bad.

I could be wrong but I thought I read once that after ten seasons, a show isn't really going to get any more profitable in syndication and, in fact, could seen as less desirable to stations because there are too many shows to buy.

Even though I stopped doing my ratings threads 2 years ago I still keep an eye on them so based off the start of the season here are my predictions for what could be cancelled...

What? They just can't waste CSI. Now when the show has turned to the better again with DB Russell as the main character.
They already killed CSI New York and CSI Miami, two excellent shows. Isn't that enough?

They should waste "Criminal Minds" instead. That show is horrible and downright depressive.

Fortunately, NCIS is still going strong! :techman:

Finally? I love the League, and while this season wasn't as great as others (seriously, Nick Kroll was only in like half of the episodes!). It was still fun to watch.

I hope they end "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" soon. I mean I'm looking forward to the next Season, but there's not really much more to say with those characters I would think.
