Just what every fan was howling for.
I mean the actor was handsome, the character was just badly written due to appearing in season 2
Once again demonstrating a very odd view of Star Trek history.
This thread reminds me about one of the best thread titles on this forum, it said something like: "How outrageous was Okona, really?"
They should bring back Joe Piscopo, too.

I’ve never called bringing a major or minor character back “fanwank.”
But bringing a lame, obscure character from a bottom-tier TNG episode back? Yeah...I’m going to at least question that one.
The Rocketeer's own Billy Campbell. I liked him in that, my memory files indicate that he was good. Maybe someone in the production just was a fan of his work and wanted him there and if so that's kinda neat.

Yeah I will be honest here...I never found Jonathan Frakes attractive. In season one he looked like a newscaster and the beard didn't really help either.
Billy Campbell was a lot more attractive than him, imho. Plus I generally prefer men with brown eyes, so that's probably a huge part of it.
A story about when he turned 40 everyone realized he was a loser would be neat.
I mean, to be fair, he bedded Teri Hatcher...so props to a playa.
