Spoilers All Things STAR WARS - News, Speculation & Spoilers Thread

Mostly just thinking out loud here--

It's easy enough to place Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire by episode.

Tales of the Jedi episodes 1 2 and 3 should be placed in that order in between The Acolyte and Episode 1.

Episode 4 takes place concurrent with The Phantom Menace.

Episode 5 and 6 are a little trickier. Episode 5 takes place throughout the run of Clone Wars, but would probably be best watched in between Clone Wars and Bad Batch.

Episode 6 begins concurrent with the end of RotS, but ends a little later. Narratively, I would probably place that later segment post-Bad Batch but it might take place sooner than that in the actual timeline.

With Tales of the Empire, the first episode with Morgan takes place within a specific Clone Wars arc, so that's easy enough to place. I would watch the second Morgan episode post Kenobi/Solo but pre Andor/Rebels,and probably leaning closer towards the latter. The third Morgan episode should probably be watched in between Mandalorian season 1 and 2, but definitely no later after than Mandalorian S2.02.

I would place the first Barris Offee episode right after Tales of the Jedi episode 5, in between Clone Wars/Bad Batch. Narratively, I would place the second Barris episode right after Bad Batch and right after the ending of Tales of the Jedi episode 6. Although, like the Ahsoka story, it's actual placement might be during The Bad Batch, and not after it. I would probably place the final Barris episode after Kenobi, but before the second Morgan episode.

I've read the above over three times and can't find any errors in it. Anyone else?

The first Barris Offee episode starts during the "Knightfall" attack on the Jedi Temple in ROTS, but presumably ends either a little after ROTS or around the time of the final scenes of the film. Tales of the Jedi episode 5 ends after Order 66 during "Victory and Death", while episode 6 starts during one of the final sequences in ROTS and ends after ROTS. So this placement is as good as any.

It's definitely after Kenobi.

So, immediately after the Revenge of the Sith, one could theoretically watch in this order--

Clone Wars final arc
Tales of the Jedi episode 5 (Order 66 coda)
Bad Batch episode 1
Tales of the Empire
episode 4 (Barris becomes an inquisitor)
Tales of the Jedi episode 6 (first half/Padme's funeral)
The Bad Batch
Tales of the Jedi
episode 6 (second half/Ahsoka rejoins fight)
Tales of the Empire episode 5 (Barris leaves the inquisitors)
Kenobi
Solo
Tales of the Empire
episode 6 (Lyn's redemption)
Tales of the Empire episode 2 (Thrawn recruits Morgan)

The TOTJ Ahsoka training ep is when she gets her dual lightsabers and would place it around the Mortis arc

I realized I never posted my thoughts on the rest of Rebuild the Galaxy.
It was a ton of fun, all of the alternate universe stuff was an absolute blast, with nice guy Maul, Darth Jar Jar, Jedi Palpatine, and the bounty hunter Ewoks with evil 3-PO were the highlights for me. What was nice was, on top of all of the alternate universe goofiness, it actually had a really nice story with Sig & Dev/astator's relationship, and Sig's attempts to restore the galaxy to the main version.
And I was honestly pretty shocked by Han's betrayal, and that they didn't restore the main version of the galaxy at the end. I really hope get more stories in this version of the galaxy.

Yeah, but I'm not going to put it there on a rewatch when 99% of the ep is set during a day or two in season 3.
That's entirely fair. But you're thinking in terms of a personal rewatch, while I'm thinking it terms of avoiding spoilers for the theoretical first-time viewer, but I did edit my post to take what you say into consideration.

I really need to watch this.

Kennedy: "The latest draft is done! Let me green-light the movie now."

Iger (reading):
"Kath, we've been over this. Rey can't win every battle without so much as breaking a sweat."

Kennedy: "She doesn't! At the end of the second act, the bad guys gets away!"

Iger:
"Only because Rey has to rescue one of her students."

Kennedy: "And because she hasn't mastered the art of Force Teleportation yet!"

Iger:
"Which she does the next morning. Onto a ship traveling at hyperspace. On only her third ever try."

Kennedy: "Well, it's not like she does it alone! Her meditating students, along with High Priestess Ahsoka and Master Reva, help her!"

Iger:
"But only the girl students."

Kennedy: "Because the boys all defected to Darth Ezra's side!"

Iger:
"Another draft, Kath."

Kennedy: "But, Bob, this one is PERFECT!"

Entirely subjective of course, but I'd be inclined to put the second Barris episode right after the first one, since it does have the feel of a first mission. If nothing else, it'd be odd if she'd been happily capturing and murdering fleeing Jedi for a while before suddenly growing a conscience. So maybe split the difference and put it in the time-jump between Bad Batch S1 & 2?

As for the final Barris episode . . . that's a tricky one since it could take place at literally any point between 'Kenobi' & 'RotJ', and my inclination is to place it as late as possible given Barris's weathered appearance. That said, Filloni made a point of taking all of the known Inquisitors off the board at the end of 'Rebels' season 2 for a reason, so as that as the cut-off; maybe place it between 'Twilight of the Apprentice' and 'Step Into the Shadow', again taking advantage of an inter-season time-jump. There's also a weird kind of symmetry of having Barris's apparent exit happening more or less concurrently with Ahsoka's, no?
In my head canon Barriss peers out her prison cell window at the burning Jedi Temple around the same time Kelleran Beq is rescuing Grogu.
There's no head canon about it; it's the same night. The temple is still burning, and I can't imagine it took more than a few hours to clear the place out. I mean it was still night time when Anakin left to go see Padme, and I can't imagine he'd leave the temple before he was sure everyone was either dead, fled, or contained. So it would all have gone down relatively quickly.

Oh, I know it's the same night. I mean almost the literal same moment Kelleran and Grogu are fleeing on the Speeder Bike.

"What I remember about the rise of the Empire is… is how quiet it was. During the waning hours of the Clone Wars, the 501st Legion was discreetly transferred back to Coruscant. It was a silent trip. We all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts? Any private traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Not on the flight to Coruscant, not when Order 66 came down, and not when we marched into the Jedi Temple. Not a word." -501st Journal

The first canonical appearance of Obi-Wan Kenobi and the last.
