Alien, Predator, AvP (news)

Yeah, it's like how I've described the AVP movies, the first one isn't all that great but gets by on the novelty of seeing the Alien and the Predator onscreen together. That novelty wears off in the second movie.

Yes and the fact you can barely see anything in the second film doesn't help (or maybe it'd be worse if you could?)

I will say the second AVP was one of my more memorable theatre experiences in a positive way. That is, I remember about five minutes before the movie started (or rather the trailers, you know what I mean) I was the only one in the theatre. Then two other guys come in, look around at the basically empty theatre and sarcastically say "where the hell are we going to sit?" I then shout out "popular movie, huh?"

As it is, I think maybe another two or three showed up to see the movie. This was an afternoon screening on Boxing Day.

I personally don't blame the DP, the film actually looked okay (visible at least) until they got it into post and basically just turned the gamma down by 80%.

Oh yeah, with what little information we've gotten about them onscreen, there's really no way to know what kind of sexual dimorphism the Predator species has.
We do get some clues.

I found the bad review.
Prey is a dull and lousy rehash and not a real origin story for The Predator franchise. This mindless horror flick clumsily panders to gender politics by having the theme that women are underestimated as hunters.

Of course its anti-woke stuff.

People pretended to go batshit when Star Trek "went woke" earlier this year. It's not just this franchise, it's every franchise getting this kind of reaction these days.
They're worried that there will never be work for white male actors again. Which is such a BS worry...

My factor will call upon your Grace’s factor!

Rob Roy was one of my favorite Scottish movies… Then along came Braveheart… :)
