Same for me, except I can't even remember the AVP movies well enough to rate them. And yet I still suspect they must have been at least slightly better than the dumpster fire that was The Predator.

The first AVP is kinda terrible, but not unenjoyable, the second AVP is one of the most godawful films I ever saw in the cinema!

Yeah, it's like how I've described the AVP movies, the first one isn't all that great but gets by on the novelty of seeing the Alien and the Predator onscreen together. That novelty wears off in the second movie.

Yes and the fact you can barely see anything in the second film doesn't help (or maybe it'd be worse if you could?)

I will say the second AVP was one of my more memorable theatre experiences in a positive way. That is, I remember about five minutes before the movie started (or rather the trailers, you know what I mean) I was the only one in the theatre. Then two other guys come in, look around at the basically empty theatre and sarcastically say "where the hell are we going to sit?" I then shout out "popular movie, huh?"

As it is, I think maybe another two or three showed up to see the movie. This was an afternoon screening on Boxing Day.

I had a theater literally for myself once. It's a really fun feeling/atmosphere.

AVP 2 is rank in its finest moments. My rating:

    PREDATORS
    PREDATOR 2
    PREDATOR
    AVP 1
    THE PREDATOR
    REQUIEM FOR WHAT?

That would have been the case for me as well had the Hack-Bros Strauses had hired a director of photography with an actual lightbulb. Couldn't see a @#$%ing thing, and worst of all, AVP 2 was my 1000th film seen in a cinema. I'm suing.

I personally don't blame the DP, the film actually looked okay (visible at least) until they got it into post and basically just turned the gamma down by 80%.

After the disappointment of The Predator I'm hopeful. But I also liked Predators, which a lot of people hate.

Prey looks like it'll be fun even if it's not that great but I'm betting on it being good.

Strong female lead characters is nothing new in this, the Alien(s) and the crossover franchises. Why is this even a surprise and/or shock to anyone anymore?

People pretended to go batshit when Star Trek "went woke" earlier this year. It's not just this franchise, it's every franchise getting this kind of reaction these days.

They're worried that there will never be work for white male actors again. Which is such a BS worry...
